Integracare patients and staff know Jen as someone who always has positive energy and a caring attitude towards everyone.

It’s that same energy and attitude that Jen brought to caring for her daughter, Rayah.

Last July, we shared that Rayah had been diagnosed with leukemia. With this came many appointments for chemo and unexpected hospital stays over the past year.

Currently, Rayah is at the hospital for complications impacting her liver. Jen says she “finds comfort in knowing my girl is a FIGHTER and TOUGH, and she will come through this bigger and better and stronger.”

This past year has put a significant financial strain on Jen, her significant other Paul, and their family, making it difficult to keep up with everyday bills. Even just the miles racked up driving to the Children’s Hospital add up quickly with the rising gas prices.

Skin cancer is the most common form of cancer in the United States.

Fortunately, the survival rate of melanoma, one form of skin cancer, is 99% if detected early.

Make a habit of regularly checking your skin in the mirror, at least once a month, to see if you spot any irregularities.

Here's what to watch for:
Asymmetry - is one half different than the other?
Border - is the outside irregular, ragged, notched, or blurred?
Color - is the color not evenly shaded?
Diameter - is it larger than a quarter inch across?
Evolving - Has it changed in size, shape or color?

13 million households nationwide experience food insecurity each year, meaning they do not have consistent access to enough nutritious food to support a healthy life.

We know food insecurity is a concern for patients in our community as well.

At Integracare, we are working to better recognize the signs of food insecurity.

We want to address the immediate food insecurity needs of our patients while also providing them with the resources to find and access local food shelves, community meal programs, and discounted food resources available in the area.

To help those in our community, we have created emergency food bags to provide to patients facing urgent food needs.

Each bag contains enough shelf-stable items to help provide approximately six meals for a family of four, along with information about local resources.

This initiative is another example of how care extends beyond our doors.

By addressing immediate needs and connecting patients with ongoing support, we hope to make a meaningful difference in the health and well-being of the individuals and families we serve.

The Sciatic nerve starts in your lower back and runs all the way down your leg to your toes. This nerve is the longest nerve in the human body and can be quite painful when “pinched” or irritated. Other symptoms can include numbness or weakness

There are multiple causes of sciatica which can include disc bulges, tight muscles, arthritis or stenosis

The chiropractors at Integracare will take a thorough history and examination to determine the cause of your sciatica. We will then formulate a treatment plan which may include manipulation, stretching or strengthening exercise, traction or referral as needed. If imaging is indicated we can take X-rays or obtain MRI’s to help with your diagnosis.
