Quality Life Services In 1973 the late Kenneth R. Tack Sr. and his wife Nancy had a dream to start a new business after selling their share in Tack and Sons' Builder Supply.

Quality Life Services owns and operates 10 nursing homes, 7 personal care homes, Quality Pharmacy, Family Home Health and Three Rivers Hospice in Western Pennsylvania. That dream eventually became Sugar Creek Rest Nursing Home in Worthington, PA. Not knowing much about healthcare, they enlisted the help of their children in getting the business off the ground. During the first few years of operation at Sugar Creek Rest it truly was a family affair. Ken Tack Jr. and his brother Phil joined their parents to work at Sugar Creek Rest with their wives Maxine and Susan. Incidentally, the first Director of Nursing was Jean Madden, their sister. Over 34 years the company has grown and today employs over 1000 people, making it one of the largest family-owned businesses in Butler County.

The residents of QLS-Chicora are Team Phoebe! Phoebe is a senior at Karns City High School and a QLS Activity Aide when she's not attending school, playing soccer and being crowned Homecoming Queen! The residents feed off her energy and are very proud of her. The activities department and a few residents took a little trip to KCHS to attend Phoebe's Senior Night at the Lady Gremlin Soccer game. We are very proud to have her on our team.

Our Dreamer Marsha has a very big heart. Her dream was to host a bake sale in memory of Mary, a former QLS-Apollo employee that was very near and dear to Marsha. Mary would host an annual bake sale at QLS to raise money for the American Cancer Society, Marsha thought continuing Mary's good work was a perfect dream. DSD matched funds up to $500, which brought the total up to $1,350. Way to go team Marsha!!

The staff at QLS-Sugar Creek are prepared to handle medical emergencies, but when a co-worker is the one in need of emergency care it hits in a very different way. A beloved dietary team member suffered a dramatic health crisis while at work. The first responders acknowledged that if it wasn’t for the fast actions of Sugar Creek staff, our team member may not be here with us right now. Our QLS heroes were honored with a visit from family members while our teammate is still in the hospital. They thanked everyone, gave them flowers and an update on their dad. The one son stated, “You didn’t just save one life that day, you saved my family from a life without my dad.”
Get well soon our dear friend and thank you to our team for going above and beyond for their work family.

No need for mustard for these Oktoberfest wieners, Tater Tot, Zeus on the Loose and Buddy Boy run on doggie treats.
