You made it through week one of school. ๐ŸŽ’

The alarms, the rushed breakfasts, the "I don't want to go" mornings, the after-school meltdowns that came out of nowhere by Wednesday. If it felt harder than it should have โ€” that's not a sign you're doing it wrong. It's a sign your family is still adjusting.

Two nervous systems โ€” yours and your kid's โ€” don't just snap into a new routine overnight. They need real structure to catch up. ๐Ÿง

That's exactly what this Thursday's workshop is for. Jesse Weisel, LMHC, BC-DMT, NCC is walking parents through:

โœ”๏ธ Why transitions hit kids (and parents) so hard โ€” and what's happening underneath the behavior
โœ”๏ธ How to build morning, after-school, and bedtime routines that actually hold
โœ”๏ธ Age-appropriate structure that gives kids security without rigidity
โœ”๏ธ How to get kids on board with routines instead of fighting them
โœ”๏ธ Real strategies to reduce meltdowns, resistance, and daily power struggles
โœ”๏ธ A simple, flexible plan to bring rhythm back to your days

If week one left you running on fumes, this is your reset. ๐ŸŒฟ

Tomorrow's the big day for many. ๐ŸŽ’โœจ

To every student walking into a new classroom, a new grade, or a whole new school tomorrow โ€” we're wishing you the best first day back. And to every parent packing lunches, laying out clothes, and quietly hoping the morning goes smoothly โ€” we see you too. This transition is a lot for the whole family, not just the kids.

If the first-day nerves (yours or theirs) have you wondering how to make this whole back-to-school season feel a little less overwhelming, bring your questions to Jesse Weisel, LMHC, BC-DMT, NCC for a live Ask Me Anything on Facebook. ๐Ÿ’ฌ

๐Ÿ—“๏ธ Thursday, August 13, 2026

๐Ÿ“ Live on our page โ€” no registration needed, just tune in!

Bring your real questions about transitions, routines, meltdowns, funny stories to share, or anything else on your mind this time of year. Jesse will be answering live. ๐ŸŒฟ

And if you want to go deeper after that, we're also hosting a full workshop on building routines that actually work โ€” DM us for more details!

Back-to-school season is coming โ€” and with it, the mornings that fall apart, the after-school meltdowns, and the bedtime battles that leave everyone exhausted. ๐Ÿ˜ฎโ€๐Ÿ’จ

Here's the truth: your kid isn't giving you a hard time. They're having a hard time. Transitions are genuinely difficult for developing brains โ€” and without the right structure, that difficulty shows up as resistance, meltdowns, and power struggles. ๐Ÿง

This month, Jesse Weisel, LMHC, BC-DMT, NCC is breaking it all down in a live, judgment-free workshop for parents. You'll learn:

โœ”๏ธ Why transitions are so hard for kids โ€” and what's actually happening in their brains
โœ”๏ธ How to build morning, after-school, and bedtime routines that actually work
โœ”๏ธ Age-appropriate structure that gives kids security without rigidity
โœ”๏ธ How to get kids on board with routines instead of fighting them
โœ”๏ธ Strategies to reduce meltdowns, resistance, and daily power struggles
โœ”๏ธ A simple, flexible plan to bring more rhythm and calm to your family's days

With school right around the corner, there's no better time to get ahead of it. ๐ŸŽ

Can I share my honest perspective
as a licensed counselor on something? ๐Ÿ’ญ

AI is everywhere right now.
And yes โ€” people are using it
for mental health support.

They're asking chatbots how to
manage anxiety.
Journaling with AI prompts.
Processing their feelings in a
chat window at 2am.

And I want to be honest:

Some of that is genuinely helpful.
Accessible. Available. Judgment free.
A starting point when nothing else
feels possible.๐Ÿ’ฏ

But here's what I know that
AI cannot replicate:

The moment a therapist says
"I notice that when you talk about
your mother your whole body shifts" โ€”
and they're right.

The silence that holds space
after you finally say the thing
you've never said out loud.

The relationship that makes it
safe enough to be fully known โ€”
not just understood, but truly seen.

Human connection is not a feature.
It is the medicine.

AI can provide information.
It can offer prompts and patterns
and a place to start.

But it cannot sit with you
in your pain.
It cannot bear witness to your story.
It cannot be changed by knowing you โ€”
the way a real human relationship
changes both people.

Please use the tools available to you.
AND โ€” please don't let the convenience
of technology replace the profound
healing that happens in genuine
human connection. ๐Ÿ’š

What are your thoughts on AI
and mental health support?

What if you stopped pretending
you were fine? ๐Ÿ’›

Just for a moment.

Not on social media.
Not at work.
Not even with your closest friends.

Just here. Right now. With yourself.

Because I work with women every day
who are extraordinarily good at
looking fine.

Keeping it together in the meeting.
Smiling at the school pickup.
Posting the highlight reel.
Answering "I'm great, just busy!"
on autopilot.

And then falling apart quietly
when nobody is watching.

Here's what I want you to know:

The performance of okayness is
one of the most exhausting things
a human being can do.

And you've been doing it for so long
you may have forgotten what it feels
like to just be honest โ€” even with
yourself โ€” about how you're actually doing.

So I'm asking.

How are you actually doing? ๐Ÿ’›

Not the version you share at work.
Not the version you post online.
The real one.

You can drop it in the comments.
Or just sit with the question today.

Either way โ€” you deserve to be known.
Not just the version of you that
has it all together. ๐Ÿ’›

Here's something most people don't realize about self-blame. ๐Ÿ‘‡

When life feels chaotic โ€” a relationship falling apart, a health scare, a job that's not working โ€” the mind does something quietly desperate.

It looks for something you did wrong.

Not because you're weak. But because blame feels like control. If it's your fault, then maybe you could have prevented it. And if you could have prevented it, maybe you can prevent the next thing.

It's not self-destruction. It's self-protection โ€” just a version that costs you too much. ๐Ÿ’›

The hard truth is that some things fall apart not because of what you did, but simply because life is uncertain. And uncertainty is much harder to sit with than guilt.

Self-compassion starts when you're willing to release the illusion of control โ€” and stop paying for it with your own peace. ๐ŸŒฟ

That's not giving up. That's growing up.

๐Ÿ‘‡ Has this ever shown up for you? I'd love to hear your thoughts in the comments.

Is there such a thing as "too much" screen time for kids? ๐Ÿ“ฑ

Here's what really matters this summer.
Many parents wrestle with this question โ€” and the truth is, there's no magic number. What matters more is how screen time is affecting your child's daily life.

Are they skipping real friendships for scrolling? Struggling to wind down at bedtime? Melting down when devices get put away? ๐Ÿ˜” These signs tell you far more than hours logged.

The good news? There are real strategies that work โ€” and this Thursday, our own Jesse Weisel, LMHC is hosting a live virtual workshop to walk you through them. ๐ŸŒฟ
