September is a good time to take a closer look at what your nervous system has been trying to tell you.
If you’re dealing with brain fog, fatigue, headaches, chronic pain, anxiety, dizziness, or feeling like your body is constantly “on,” Functional Neurology may be worth exploring.

For September, new patients can receive their Functional Neurology exam for $125 (regularly $200).

We’ll look beyond the symptom and assess how your brain and nervous system are functioning so we can build a plan specific to you.

Before I was Dr. Maxa, I was the patient.

I lived through CRPS and chronic pain, and my own recovery ultimately led me to chiropractic and Functional Neurology.

That experience still shapes the way I practice today. I know what it’s like to feel stuck, search for answers, and hope something finally helps.

I don’t take that perspective for granted. 🤍

Pain, tension, headaches, or a nervous system that feels stuck “on”?

Rezzimax® uses targeted vibration to stimulate the nervous system and support better communication between the brain and body. It can be a helpful tool for supporting pain relief, relaxation, and nervous system regulation.

At Watkins Family Chiropractic, we use Rezzimax as part of a personalized approach—not a one-size-fits-all treatment.
Curious if Rezzimax could be right for you? DM “REZZIMAX” and let’s talk.

Those were the words one of my chronic fatigue patients shared with me this week.

Even better?

She’s been reaching her functional goals week after week.
At first, those goals were simple:
    •    Getting through the day without crashing.
    •    Making dinner.
    •    Running a few errands.
    •    Having enough energy left to enjoy time with her family.
Each week, we built on those wins by helping her nervous system build capacity.

Her care has been centered around:
    •    BrainTap to help calm the brain, improve sleep quality, and support neuroplasticity.
    •    Vagus nerve stimulation to encourage a healthier balance between the sympathetic (“fight-or-flight”) and parasympathetic (“rest-and-digest”) nervous systems.
    •    Ionic foot detox as a relaxing therapy that supports the body’s natural detoxification systems by promoting circulation, hydration, and overall wellness as part of a comprehensive healing plan.

If you have chronic fatigue, this is your reminder that doing less can actually help you do more.

Dr. Ceciley’s tip: If you have 10 things you want to accomplish today, try doing 5 instead - the 50% rule.

Why? Constantly pushing past your limits can leave your body feeling overwhelmed and make it harder to recover. Giving yourself space to slow down, rest, and regulate can help you better manage your energy instead of constantly running on empty.

Before she was Dr. Ceciley Maxa, she was a patient.

After being diagnosed with Complex Regional Pain Syndrome (CRPS), she experienced firsthand what it felt like to live with chronic pain and search for answers. That journey ultimately led her to Functional Neurology and inspired her to become the doctor she once needed.

Today, her approach is rooted in both clinical expertise and lived experience—helping patients uncover the why behind their symptoms and supporting true healing through personalized, nervous system-focused care.

Because sometimes the best doctors are the ones who have walked the path themselves. 🤍

Digestive symptoms aren’t always just a gut issue.

Your vagus nerve is a key part of the brain-gut connection, helping regulate digestion, motility, and communication throughout the digestive tract.

When the nervous system is dysregulated, digestion can be too. Supporting vagus nerve function is one way we help restore balance and promote healing from the inside out.

No two nervous systems are the same, so no two adjustments should be!!

Functional neurological adjustments are based on your unique brain and nervous system function, not a one-size-fits-all approach.

It’s important to explain how personalized care helps support better brain-body communication and long-term healing.
