Starting therapy can feel overwhelming at first. 🤍

So many parents walk through our doors carrying worry, guilt, questions, or the feeling that they should somehow be “doing more.” But one of the most common things we hear after starting therapy is:

“I finally feel like I’m not alone in this anymore.”

Pediatric therapy is not about perfection. It’s about support, guidance, encouragement, and celebrating every little win together. Your child has a whole team cheering them on — and supporting you, too. ✨

Babies develop at their own pace — but sometimes little signs can point to needing a bit of extra support. 🤍
Pediatric physical therapy helps babies build strength, coordination, comfort with movement, and confidence through play and everyday routines.

And no — needing PT does not mean something is “wrong.” Early intervention can simply help babies move more comfortably and confidently as they grow. ✨

Comparison steals so much peace from parents.
Every child develops differently, but if your gut is telling you your child needs extra support, it’s okay to listen to that. Early intervention isn’t giving up on your child, it’s giving them tools to thrive🤍

Not every child who struggles needs therapy, but sometimes those “little things” start adding up. 🤍

Occupational therapy can help support the skills kids use every single day: playing, eating, regulating emotions, exploring their environment, and participating in family routines.

Early support doesn’t mean something is “wrong.” It simply gives children extra tools to thrive.

If you’ve been wondering whether your child could benefit from OT, trust your instincts and ask questions. You know your child best. ✨

Back in November, our two OTs went to Charleston to expand their knowledge on how they can support children with feeding difficulties through the SOS approach to feeding. This developmental program encourages kids to interact with food in a stress free way, exploring the food with all their senses. Our OT's have been able to witness the progress the use of the SOS training in feeding therapy has been making with some of our clients, through patience and encouragement.

The following links are resources designed by SOS Approach to Feeding and can be helpful for families struggling with picky eaters:

Hello and happy New Year to all of our families! We hope 2026 is starting out to be a great year for you and your loved ones.

We often work with infants here at Lowcountry Childrens Therapy and parents always want to know what they can be doing at home to help their little one progress their motor skills. One of the main things we emphasize is….. Tummy Time, Tummy Time, Tummy Time! Babies learn by being able to explore their environment. The more time they spend on their tummy, the stronger their core muscles become. And babies need strong core muscles to learn how to push up onto hands and knees, sit, crawl, pull to stand, and walk. Here is a short article from Nationwide Children’s on the importance of Tummy Time, limiting use of equipment to contains children, and for making play time with your baby fun!

Within the first year of life, your baby will develop critical motor skills that help them make small movements, hold up their head, sit up-right, crawl and eventually walk. As a caregiver, there are many things you can do to encourage them reach these milestones.
