World Infertility Awareness Month: Every Loss Matters 🍍

Infertility and pregnancy loss come in many forms, yet too often the grief is minimized, misunderstood, or carried in silence.

This World Infertility Awareness Month, we honor every journey and every baby who was deeply loved. Whether you have experienced infertility, miscarriage, recurrent pregnancy loss, ectopic pregnancy, chemical pregnancy, embryo loss, unsuccessful IVF transfer, TFMR, blighted o**m, molar pregnancy, vanishing twin syndrome, stillbirth, infant loss, SIDS, or child loss, your grief is real, your story matters, and your baby matters.

Loss is not a competition. There is no hierarchy of grief. Every person navigating infertility, pregnancy loss, baby loss, or child loss deserves compassion, support, and acknowledgment.

Too many families suffer in silence because society doesn’t know how to talk about infertility and loss. This month, we are helping break the stigma, raise awareness, and remind grieving parents that they are not alone.

💛 Every diagnosis matters.
🩷 Every journey matters.
💙 Every baby matters.
🤍 Every loss matters.

If you’re comfortable sharing, comment below with a 🍍 and tell us which loss or infertility journey you’re honoring this month. Your story may help another family feel less alone.

Save this post, share it to your stories, and help us raise awareness for the 1 in 6 people affected by infertility and the millions impacted by pregnancy and infant loss worldwide.

All losses matter 🤍

Not just the ones the world can see…
but the quiet ones, the early ones, the ones carried in hope, love, and dreams.

The babies we never got to hold,
but held us in ways no one else ever could.

If you’ve ever loved a baby you didn’t get to meet…
your grief is valid. Your love is real. 💜

You are still a parent.
Your baby still matters.
And your story deserves to be heard.

Let’s hold space for every loss — spoken or unspoken, seen or unseen ✨

Is it PPD, PPA, or POCD? 💭

Maternal mental health doesn’t look just one way, and symptoms can show up anytime during pregnancy or postpartum.

What you’re feeling might be:
• Depression
• Anxiety
• OCD
✳️ Perinatal Mental Health Disorders also include bipolar mood disorders, PTSD, and psychosis. ✳️

All are common, temporary, and treatable, but they do require support.

Too often, parents experience symptoms like: irritability, racing thoughts, guilt, sadness, intrusive thoughts, or constant worry… and don’t realize there’s a name for it.

When we connect the dots, we make maternal mental health visible.
And when it’s visible, it becomes treatable, supportable, and understood.

💙 If you see yourself in this, you are not alone

It’s beginning to look a lot like Christmas at Dochney Counseling…which means it’s time for our 6th annual toy drive!

We will be collecting toys, gift cards, etc. until Friday, December 12th that will be delivered to SAFE Shelter Center for Domestic Violence Services. If you’d like to help us try to make this tough time a little brighter for some of the families going through challenging times you can leave a new, unwrapped, toy under the tree at our office, send a message to our Dochney Counseling, LLC page or text Elizabeth at (912)224-8609 so we can coordinate picking up your donation.

Another simple way to support is by sharing this post to reach others that may like to donate! We are so grateful for our community and the ability to support these two local organizations and the children and families they are helping. Happy Holidays from Dochney Counseling!
