Peter Warren Mauck, 44, of Savannah, Georgia, passed away at home on June 6, 2026.
Peter’s passing has left a tremendous void in the hearts of his family, friends, and the many lives he touched throughout his life. While his time with us was far too short, the impact he made on others will be remembered forever.
Peter never met a stranger. Whether he was at the grocery store, a hospital, a restaurant, or simply out and about, he greeted everyone with a smile, a handshake, or a hug. He had a remarkable gift for making people feel seen, valued, and welcome. To Peter, everyone was a friend he simply hadn’t met yet.
One of Peter’s greatest joys was bringing a smile to someone’s face. His kindness was genuine, his compassion endless, and his heart open to all. He had a way of brightening even the darkest days with his warmth, humor, and caring spirit.
Peter was an avid sports fan who faithfully followed the Detroit Tigers, Detroit Lions, and Detroit Red Wings. He also loved music of all kinds, but Christian music held a special place in his heart, providing him with comfort, inspiration, and joy.
Above all else, Peter will be remembered for the love he shared so freely. He taught those around him the importance of kindness, friendship, and making others feel they mattered. His legacy is not found in possessions or accomplishments, but in the countless people whose lives were made better simply because they knew him.
Peter is survived by his father, Eric McCabe; his mother, Alicia McCabe; his sisters, Stacey Kelenski and her husband, Thomas; Gail Willis and her husband, Ronny; Kelly Smart and her wife, Sarah; and Rebecca McKee and her husband, Shawn; his grandmother, Carol Vaughn; eight nephews and two nieces whom he loved dearly; and many extended family members and friends who will forever cherish the memories they shared with him.
Though our hearts are broken, we find comfort in knowing that Peter’s love, laughter, and gentle spirit will continue to live on in the stories we tell, the memories we share, and the kindness we extend to others in his honor.
Peter will be deeply missed, lovingly remembered, and forever held in our hearts.
