Going through some of the old stuff at the office. Thought this was a fun one. I don’t know if we need more chiropractors but we definitely need more good ones. Printed in 1974. I’ve always hated the comparison of the medical and chiro educational requirements. It didn’t matter to the public then and it doesn’t now.

Every now and then I’ll reference this chart I have hanging in my front office when trying to help patients visualize what’s going on with them. As much as I feel like it’s great for discussing nerve distribution (usually we’re talking about low back stuff), invariably people will laugh at the guy’s hairstyle or his rear end. To be fair, the poster was designed in 1979 lol. Sometimes you can’t beat a classic.

In both of my adjusting rooms I have a certification that I proudly hang on the wall. I’m as skeptical as the next guy about all the different certs you can get out there nowadays but this one is special to me because of the man who signed it. People look at this signature, snicker, then ask me what was wrong with whoever signed it. Their expression quickly changes when I explain that this was signed by a man who was 91 years old at the time and still working 6 days a week in his private practice. In a world full of nonsense and people too busy talking to take care of people, Dr. Roy was busy walking the walk. He made complicated concepts simple and he executed at the highest level for decades. A master of his craft. He passed in January of 2022 at age 94, still in the trenches up till the end. I miss him dearly but cherish the time I was able to spend with him. His spirit and dedication were at a level that I don’t believe I will see again. Hopefully I’m wrong.
