What can change the way you walk?
Quite a few things. Strength, balance, pain, vision, even footwear can all affect how a person walks.
Confidence matters too. When someone worries about falling, that worry alone can change how they move — shorter steps, a slower pace, less willingness to go out.
None of this is a diagnosis. A change in walking is simply information worth noticing.
If you or someone you love is walking differently than before, consider discussing it with a healthcare professional.
