In all seriousness I love being an ADHD entrepreneur

Especially a mom entrepreneur 💪

What keeps me going is supporting my DNA from a cellular levels since I have over 11 methylation gene variants

The freest way is regulating my nervous system

I also have a stack of base supplements I use and some more but currently off the extras while breastfeeding

Here’s MY theory why.

Issues with DNA methylation can cause elevated homocysteine, and we have scientific evidence that elevated homocysteine can damage blood vessels.

We even have evidence that certain combinations of methylation genes can increase the risk of this process.

So, by supporting his genetics using nutrigenomics, I’m not just helping his ADHD—I’m hopefully decreasing his risk of dying like his father.

I’m Jennifer Schiavi, FNP-BC, a board-certified Family Nurse Practitioner with training in functional medicine and nutrigenomics, plus a Harvard Medical School Certificate in Genetic Essentials.

Neuropeptides may ring the doorbell—but if the “house” is chaotic, the message might not land as hard.

Think of peptides as messengers. They send signals to your nervous system, but your cells still need to be able to receive, process, and respond to those signals.

When cellular health is depleted, the signal can feel noisy.

🫆Your cells need:
• Healthy, flexible cell membranes to receive messages
• Enough cellular energy to respond
• Protein, minerals, and nutrient cofactors
• Support for inflammation, sleep, gut health, and blood sugar
• DNA methylation support to help regulate neurotransmitter-related pathways

🛑Natural dopamine is not made by one supplement, peptide, or gene variant.

It is a larger cellular process: your DNA provides instructions, enzymes carry out the chemistry, and nutrients provide the tools needed for the pathway to work.

✅Before chasing another signal, support the house receiving it.

Healthy dopamine signaling starts with healthy cells.

We can’t can’t the genetics we are born with like MTHFR

But we have been studying nutrigenomics for 30 years using nutrition and supplements to bypass mutations

This is exactly what I do in my

Gas stations have so many distractions and honestly there’s nothing that’s going to help with that 😂

Nutrigenomics goes beyond a one-size-fits-all genetics supplement plan.

By looking at DNA variants such as MTHFR C677T and MTRR, alongside gut health, nutrients, inflammation, and daily symptoms, we can identify where biochemical pathways may need extra support.

These gene variants do not mean anything is “broken.” They can offer clues about how your body processes folate, supports methylation, recycles certain nutrients, and responds to stressors.

From there, targeted nutrition, lifestyle foundations, and individualized supplements can help support the pathways your body uses every day.

Your DNA is one piece of the bigger picture. Gut health, mineral status, sleep, food, stress, medications, and environmental exposures all matter too.

Truth: we spend a lot of money on our health.

In the beginning, we honestly could not afford it.

But we made it a priority because health is not just about ADHD. It is about longevity, energy, prevention, brain health, and being present for the people we love.

My husband has MTHFR A1298C, SHMT, and other gene variants that can influence nutrient needs and pathways involved in methylation, neurotransmitter balance, and cellular function.

Those results did not define him, but they gave us a more personalized place to start.

We have invested in testing, nourishing food, foundational supplements, and learning how to support the body upstream instead of only chasing symptoms downstream.

Was it easy? No.

Did we always feel like we could afford it? No.

But when I think about our future, our children, our ability to feel well, stay active, think clearly, and reduce preventable health stressors, health becomes a priority rather than an expense.

DNA is not destiny. Your genes are information that can help you ask better questions about what your body may need.

He came to me sick of the side effects he was experiencing with Adderall.

He wasn’t sleeping well.

He felt cranky and irritable in the evenings.
And he was tired of feeling like he had to choose between focus and feeling like himself.

1️⃣2️⃣3️⃣Using my 3-Step DNA Method for ADHD, we looked upstream at his DNA variations, nutrient needs, and the foundational factors affecting his focus, mood, and energy.

From there, we created a personalized plan designed to support his body at the root.

👀Now, 3 years later, he no longer takes Adderall.

When I dig, I dig deep into root causes.

What led me here using nutrigenomics to treat ADHD is because all of the times in primary care I didn’t take no for an answer.

So letter to my trolls, you can’t bring me down 😘
