🌟 Meet Ann Stanton, MS, OTR/L, CHT, BCB – Owner of Seacoast Hand Therapy and True Champion of Whole-Person Care

From the NICU to private outpatient rehab, Ann has dedicated her career to treating the whole person, not just the diagnosis. With over three decades of experience in a wide range of clinical settings—and a passion for building strong therapist-patient relationships—Ann brings a wealth of knowledge, compassion, and leadership to our team.

After building the hand therapy program at NERH and earning her Certified Hand Therapist (CHT) credential, Ann joined Seacoast in 2010. She later achieved Board Certification in Biofeedback—deepening her unique ability to support patients not just physically, but emotionally and neurologically as well.

🎯 Her specialty areas include:
• Arthritis & autoimmune conditions
• Neuro & orthopedic rehabilitation
• Complex regional pain syndrome (CRPS) & chronic pain
• Overuse syndromes
• Multi-trauma recovery
• Stress, anxiety, & chronic pain management using biofeedback

In 2022, Ann and fellow long-time colleague Hilary Hayner proudly purchased Seacoast Hand Therapy, bringing their shared vision to life: a truly individualized, integrative approach to patient care.

Ann and her husband moved to Scarborough after raising their children in South Portland. You’ll often find her working one-on-one with patients, creating a calming space for healing and recovery, enjoying time with family, gardening, or on a walk with her rescue lab-mix, Cassie. 🐾

Help us celebrate Ann’s leadership, dedication, and the heart she pours into Seacoast every day. 💙

Most people have never heard of Neurolymphatic MLD — but the ones who've tried it? They wish they'd found it sooner.

Your brain has its own lymphatic drainage system. When it's sluggish, you feel it — brain fog, fatigue, poor sleep, anxiety. This gentle, non-invasive technique supports your brain's natural ability to clear and heal.

We offer this at Seacoast Hand Therapy, and we'd love to talk about whether it's right for you. Visit the link in bio to get started.

Less tension. Better sleep. A nervous system that finally gets a break.

Craniosacral Therapy (CST) is one of the most underrated treatments we offer — and the people who try it usually wish they'd found it sooner.
It's gentle, deeply relaxing, and effective for everything from migraines and chronic fatigue to stress and post-concussion recovery.

Ready to feel the difference? Book your session at the link in bio.

Her clinical experience ranges from acute care to outpatient settings—but it’s her holistic, full-body approach that sets her apart. She’s passionate about helping patients navigate the often-overlooked challenges of cancer recovery, including lymphedema, cording, brain fog, anxiety, and more.

🎯 Her areas of expertise include:

🖐 Meet Melanie Kendall, OTR/L, CSRS, CHT, Certified LSVT BIG Therapist

Melanie is a seasoned occupational therapist with over two decades of experience—and a true cornerstone of the Seacoast Hand Therapy team. Since graduating from the University of New England in 1999, she has cultivated deep expertise across a broad range of healthcare environments, culminating in a specialized focus on outpatient hand and upper extremity rehabilitation.

💡 Melanie holds advanced certifications as both a Certified Hand Therapist (CHT) and Certified Stroke Rehabilitation Specialist (CSRS)—a powerful combination that enables her to deliver highly individualized care with clinical precision.

🔍 Her primary practice areas include:
• Peripheral nerve conditions (e.g., carpal tunnel, ulnar neuropathy)
• Tendinopathies (such as lateral epicondylitis and De Quervain’s tenosynovitis)
• Neurological impairments (including post-traumatic and degenerative disorders)
• Comprehensive stroke rehabilitation, using both evidence-based techniques and functional retraining
• Custom orthotic fabrication for post-surgical and conservative care

Melanie is passionate about understanding how her patients use their hands—whether that’s for their profession, hobbies, or everyday life. Her approach is as much about function as it is about healing, and she’s especially skilled at guiding patients with complex neurological presentations toward meaningful, lasting recovery.

🏞 Outside the clinic, you'll find Melanie enjoying the fresh air of Sebago Lake or the White Mountains of New Hampshire. She’s a proud sports mom, often seen cheering from the sidelines with her golden retriever - Layla, and husband Bill.

We are incredibly fortunate to have Melanie’s clinical excellence and compassionate spirit on our team!
