PAUSE & MEET RACHEL 🌿

Meet Rachel Lamberg from Ardsley, NY — a Mindfulness + Meditation Member since July 2023. ❤️

“I first discovered Pause to Be Present through my friend Jaime Jamie Braunstein. She had just completed her Pause to Be Present Meditation Teacher Training and invited my husband and me to join a private meditation series. The moment we met the instructor Cheryl Vigder Brause, I knew I wanted to learn from her. She is wise, calm, grounded, and just so cool.😎

I eventually reached out to Stephanie Sherman Falk and convinced her to open an evening Teacher Training that would work for a working mom—and they did it. For me! ❤️

Every Wednesday evening throughout the fall of 2024, I looked forward to gathering with Cheryl and the other members of our training class. It became something I truly cherished. After completing my certification, I had the incredible opportunity to write and lead a meditation for Cheryl herself. It was one of those very special, full-circle moments.

Since then, I’ve continued to explore all that Pause has to offer, including Sound Baths with Susie Sands, yoga with Tara Sussman, and programs with 🌿Cindy Olsen🌿.

Today, my friend Jaime and I lead our own mindful meetups, called ‘From Stress to Strength’. We’re celebrating two years of gathering The Lark, and none of it would have been possible without Pause to Be Present!

I will be forever grateful for the people, the teachings, and the path that brought me here.”

Rachel, we are SO grateful you found your way to Pause — and that you continue to carry it forward with Rachel!! ❤️ 🌿

✨ Meet Hannah, our very first Pause to be Present Member Spotlight! 💛

One of the greatest gifts of our Mindfulness + Meditation community is hearing how mindfulness has gently transformed people’s lives—not through perfection, but through simply showing up.

Today we’re thrilled to launch a brand new feature in our weekly Sunday newsletter—our Pause to be Present Member Spotlight! A place where we celebrate the incredible people who make this community so special by sharing their stories of growth, resilience, and presence.

Hannah Coleman has been part of Pause to be Present since 2020, when she and her mom, longtime member Michele Coleman joined our daily 4:00 PM meditation classes during the uncertainty of the pandemic. What began as a daily moment of connection quickly became something much deeper.

In Hannah’s words:

“Pause has given me a way of relating to myself and others with greater presence, intention, and compassion.”

One lesson from our 2024 Silent Retreat leader Cheryl Vigder Brause has stayed with her ever since:

“Freedom is not the ability to do whatever you want to do; it is the ability to make decisions that bring you into greater alignment.”

Thank you, Hannah, for sharing your beautiful story and for being such a cherished member of our community. Your words remind us that mindfulness isn’t about changing who we are—it’s about learning to meet ourselves, and our lives, with greater awareness, kindness, and compassion.

We hope you’ll enjoy getting to know the wonderful people who make this community so special through our new Member Spotlight series...and who knows, maybe one day we’ll be sharing your story. 💛

✨ Because every story has the power to inspire another. 💛

Still feeling ecstatic over the Knicks’ EPIC comeback? 🧡💙 Those final seconds proved it: IT’S NEVER OVER UNTIL IT’S OVER!

That game is the perfect metaphor for mindfulness. When you’re down in the 4th quarter, you don’t panic—you take a breath, reset, and begin again.

In yesterday’s 8 AM virtual meditation class, Mindfulness + Meditation teacher 🌿Cindy Olsen🌿 broke down how the New York Knicks 🏀 comeback parallels our practice:

🏀 Momentum is impermanent. Bad moods, tough parenting days, or a losing quarter—nothing is fixed.

🏀 The mind decides too early. When we feel behind, panic sets in. Meditation keeps us anchored before the mind writes the ending.

🏀 The comeback begins with presence. We turn things around one deep breath at a time.

🏀 We can always begin again. No matter how many times you lose focus, the invitation is always there to reset.
