It has been proven that the unconditional love provided by a special pet can help one feel happier and heal quicker. A special pet's presence alone can calm a child, comfort the sick, and bring happiness and companionship to those who feel sad or alone. Our special Jenna came to us from friends in Curtis, Nebraska who own and spoil both of her parents. Her mother is a Golden Retriever and her dad
a Standard Poodle. So Jenna is the perfect combination of smart, friendly, hypoallergenic, and Goofy. She was raised being held and cuddled by children. This was the start of her training. She continued her training at the Health Center at Union College, where she spent hours with college students who came often just to see her - and not the rest of the staff. She happily snuggled with those who missed home and their own pets the most. She also spent time in hospice with family and friends just listening to stories and snuggling. She quietly and devotedly comforted two of our beloved family members during their final hours on earth. All if this before her first birthday!! Once she turned one year, she easily passed the two hour behavior test and was officially certified by Therapy Dogs International. This certification now allows her to apply to volunteer at other medical establishments. She just turned 15 months - so her career has just begun! Please feel free to private message this page if you know of someone who might benefit from a visit by Jenna or one of her network of certified friends. We would be happy to try to help. Thanks for reading.
