Yesterday, we swapped out our weekly ice cream bar for a Dirty Soda Bar! 🥤

Residents could choose between a Strawberry Dream or a Dirty Dr. Pepper. Everyone had so much fun trying something new while Life Enrichment made each drink right in front of the residents, creating a fun and interactive experience.

We love trying new things—even at 90! 💕🥤

This past week, we took our Memory Support residents on a tour of our hometown, Schererville! ❤️ It was a wonderful way to show our residents more of the community they call home.

Many of our residents chose Deer Creek to be close to their children and families, making Schererville an important part of their lives.

We partner with St. Michael’s for Communion and Mass, so it was especially meaningful to drive past the church, located so close to our community.

Along the way, we saw local schools, the historic log cabin, golf course, Teibels, splash pad, police station, 911 Memorial, and so much more! It was a beautiful day filled with familiar places, memories, and conversation.

We’re so lucky to call Schererville home! 🏡❤️

Our residents showed off their skills during today’s Duck Hunting activity! 🦆

We had ducks set up at both long range and close range, giving everyone a chance to participate at their own comfort level. Some of our experienced hunters even helped their peers with tips on aiming, racking and reloading.

Best of all, everyone scored at least one “kill shot” and took home a trophy. It was a fun afternoon filled with laughter, encouragement, and a little friendly competition!

This afternoon residents made center pieces for the dining room.

We glittered, glued, wrapped, strung, and made floral arrangements.

It was a great multi element craft using our hands and unique touches.

Residents were proud of their work!

Yesterday was our monthly Stop & Shop! 🛍️

Residents earned Deer Bucks throughout the month by participating in activities, then lined up to spend them on their favorite items. Before shopping begins, everyone picks a number for their place in line—making it a fun and fair experience for all!

From paper products and soaps to home décor, stationery, and everyone’s favorite candy table, there’s something for everyone.

The last Thursday of every month is always one of our residents’ favorite days!
