On Pregnancy and Infant Loss Remembrance Day, we want to recognize a very special organization that has helped us bring a little extra love and comfort to families experiencing unimaginable loss.

For the past several years, Hermann Sons Life - Cibolo has generously donated teddy bears and blankets to Schertz Funeral Home for families grieving the loss of a baby or child.

Our staff often personalizes these special gifts, creating a meaningful keepsake for families to hold close and cherish.

While nothing can take away the heartache of losing a child, these thoughtful gifts serve as a gentle reminder that these little lives are loved, remembered and will never be forgotten.

If you’ve ever walked through an older cemetery, you may have noticed that many graves are arranged with the deceased’s feet toward the east and head toward the west.

This tradition has deep roots in Christianity. Historically, graves were often positioned this way so the deceased would symbolically face the rising sun and, according to Christian tradition, be facing east at the resurrection.
