Who says you have to wait until college to make a difference during a public health concern?

Meet Brooke, who just finished her sophomore year at Perkiomen Valley High School. After we shared information about the recent levothyroxine recall, Brooke created this video to help explain what patients need to know about a medication that so many people rely on every day.

Not every levothyroxine prescription is affected, but patients should review the recall information and contact their pharmacy if they have questions about their medication. Most importantly, do not stop taking levothyroxine or change your dose without first speaking with your pharmacist or healthcare provider.

๐ŸŒŸ Student Spotlight: Mahi Patel ๐ŸŒŸ

This week, weโ€™re excited to recognize Mahi, a Thomas Jefferson University student majoring in biology on the pre-medical track!

Mahi began working at Skippack Pharmacy last year, and throughout her time here, her passion for patient care has continued to grow. Determined to make an even greater impact, she became an immunizer and Community Health Worker while taking on leadership roles in our GLP-1 program and patient outreach. She has also contributed to COVID-19 and Narcan distribution and vaccine billing. Her leadership, dedication, and commitment to putting patients first have made a meaningful impact on our patients, team, and community.

Weโ€™re incredibly proud of Mahi and canโ€™t wait to see all she accomplishes as she continues pursuing her dream of becoming a physician. Thank you, Mahi, for all your hard work! ๐Ÿ’™๐Ÿฉบ

Everyoneโ€™s talking about pleading the ๐Ÿ–๐Ÿฝ but maybe the most important thing we can plead for is a little more understanding.

We canโ€™t change the past, and we wonโ€™t always agree. But differences donโ€™t have to separate us as neighbors or as human beings.

We reflect on one of our logos from our t-shirts and see a deeper meaning. Thereโ€™s a superhero in all of us and sometimes being heroic simply means choosing kindness, respect, and compassion, especially when it would be easier not to.

Our children are watching how we treat one another. Letโ€™s give them something worth carrying forward.

If a medication we dispensed were ever affected by a recall, we would review our records and contact the impacted patients directly.

The lot number may not appear on your regular prescription label, but the dispensing pharmacy can check its records.
