Our thoughts are with Boston Fire Department as they mourn the loss of Firefighter Robert Kilduff.

A 24-year veteran of the department assigned to Rescue 2, Robert made the ultimate sacrifice while operating at a 3-alarm building fire in Dorchester last night.

“Bobby Kilduff was one of our best.

For 24 years, Bobby proudly served the people of Boston as a fire fighter, following in the footsteps of his father and grandfather. He was a Marine, a Jake through and through, and part of a family dedicated to serving others – on and off the job. The Kilduff name means something in Boston and in our union.

Bobby made the ultimate sacrifice last night battling an aggressive 3-alarm fire in Dorchester. Through the efforts of Bobby and others on scene, all five residents made it out safely, and the fire was kept from spreading to adjacent homes.

BK loved the job and our city, but more than anything, he loved his kids – Mason and Hanna Jane. Please keep them, his family and friends, and our Local 718 brothers and sisters, in your prayers.” -

The 2026 application period for FEMA’s Assistance to Firefighter Grant Program (AFG) is officially open.

Since 2001, AFG has helped firefighters and other first responders obtain critically needed resources necessary for protecting the public and emergency personnel from fire and related hazards.

Through this funding, eligible departments can access a broad range of O2X programs – including Workshops, On-Site Specialists, Screening and Assessments, and more.

This week, in Santa Monica (CA), O2X will deliver a 4-Day EAT SWEAT THRIVE Series to Santa Monica Fire Department.

Focusing on stress mitigation and advanced injury risk reduction, more than 150 Santa Monica firefighters will receive hands-on training from O2X’s team, which includes a performance psychologist and physical therapists.
