Growth & Grace Awards Night

Wednesday night, the women had a special awards night together. They voted on different awards, and after each one was announced, the group took time to speak positive affirmations over the woman who received it.

They shared the growth they have seen in one another, things like confidence, boundaries, motivation, transformation, openness, selflessness, stronger communication, and learning to stand on a firm foundation.

What started as a fun activity became a meaningful moment of encouragement. The women were able to hear how others see them growing, changing, and becoming who God created them to be.

It is beautiful to watch them celebrate one another, speak life over each other, and recognize that healing is happening, not just individually, but in community.

From fun awards to formed friendships.
From spoken encouragement to real growth.

“You are the light of the world.” — Matthew 5:14–16

Around the Mission

Last week, Heidi was able to spend time with her son at his awards day at school, a sweet reminder of what rebuilding can look like one step at a time.

At TK Mission, growth doesn’t always look the same for every woman. Some graduates move home right away, while others continue transitioning slowly with support, structure, and community around them.

Heidi is doing what works for her. She has a job she loves, stays connected to the women here, and continues building a healthy rhythm for herself and her family.

These everyday moments matter. They are part of healing, stability, and beginning again.

Happy 3rd Birthday to Izzy! 🐾

Today we’re celebrating a very special part of the TK Mission family, Izzy!

Izzy belongs to Jody, but anyone who has spent time around the mission knows he has a way of becoming everybody’s dog. He is full of energy, personality, and love and you can’t help but smile when he’s around.

He brings joy, laughter, and a little extra life wherever he goes. We’re grateful for the simple gifts God gives us, including four-legged ones who make the mission feel even more like home.

Help us wish Izzy a happy 3rd birthday! 🐶💙

Looking back at where it all began.

This interview with Jody and Mira was filmed when TK Mission first opened, and it is such a beautiful reminder of the heart behind this ministry from the very beginning.

Before the growth, the stories, the graduates, the community support, and all the lives touched, there was a God-given vision to create a safe place for women to heal, rebuild, and begin again.

Watching this today reminds us that God has been faithful every step of the way.

We are so grateful for everyone who has prayed, supported, donated, volunteered, encouraged, and believed in the mission over the years. What started as a vision continues to bear fruit in the lives of women and families.

Take a few minutes to watch and be reminded of the heart behind TK Mission.

CALLING LOCAL HUNTERS 🦌

Cleaning out your freezer?

If you have extra, properly processed game meat you would like to donate, TK Mission would be so grateful.

Donations like venison or other processed game meat help us provide nourishing meals for the women in our program and sober living homes.

If you would like to donate, please message TK Mission first so we can coordinate freezer space, packaging details, and a good drop-off time.

Thank you for helping us care for women who are healing, rebuilding, and beginning again. Your generosity helps fill more than a freezer, it helps fill a table with hope.

Testimony Tuesday | From Surviving to Surrender

My name is Anastasia, and I had a genuine encounter with the Holy Spirit that led me to Louisiana to get sober.

I traveled all the way from Macon, Georgia, where I first spent 28 days at Heartland Recovery before coming to TK Mission. My healing journey began at Heartland, but REAL growth happened when I arrived at TK Mission.

I come from a background of childhood trauma and sexual abuse. I’ve survived domestic violence, addiction, and multiple overdoses, some of them intentional. For a long time, I was lost. I had never worked an honest program or truly built a close relationship with God, and I couldn’t understand why I kept relapsing.

But when I experienced TK Mission and its faith-based approach to recovery and everyday living, I knew God had placed me exactly where I needed to be.

I learned how to build a real relationship with my Higher Power and how to become truly honest with myself, something that is absolutely necessary for healing and long-term sobriety.

The women I had the honor of meeting at TK Mission, all in different stages of their own healing journeys, showed me that real growth happens in a loving, understanding community built on accountability, compassion, and grace.

Mira was also an integral part of my journey. I will forever be grateful for the way she counseled me with both honesty and compassion. She showed me that serving others is both a moral and spiritual responsibility, because we keep what was freely given to us by giving it away to others.

Today, I am proud of who I am becoming. I now understand that my past does not define me. What defines me is the person I am growing into, someone who can finally live a life she no longer feels the need to escape from.

And that brings me peace.

“My past does not define me. What defines me is the person I am becoming.”

Therefore, if anyone is in Christ, he is a new creation. The old has passed away; behold, the new has come.
— 2 Corinthians 5:17
