This week, I had the incredible opportunity to participate in a mini internship at Smile Therapy for kids in Canada to further grow in my understanding, knowledge, and skill set in DMI and other modalities.
It was such an amazing experience learning from Jo-Anne, the co-founder of DMI, and her incredible staff. I was able to dive deeper into so many different modalities, techniques, and approaches.
People often ask me, “Why do you love DMI so much?”
I think the answer is simple: there is always more to learn.
DMI offers endless opportunities to grow, fine-tune your handling skills, and continue to develop in your clinical reasoning so that you can better understand each child and work toward the best possible outcomes and responses for that individual kiddo.
What stood out to me just as much as the clinical learning was the camaraderie, work ethic, passion, and pure joy that the Smile therapy team brings to what they do. You can truly feel how much they care about their work and the children they serve.
I’m incredibly grateful for the opportunity to take another step in my own learning journey. I’m heading back to Arizona with new knowledge, new ideas, renewed inspiration, and an even deeper appreciation for the incredible work we get to do every day.
There is always more to learn, and that’s what makes this profession so special. ⭐️
