We spend so much of our day having a conversation with ourselves. But if we’re being honest, that conversation is often one-sided, judgmental, and incredibly harsh.

We think that being hard on ourselves is what 'keeps us motivated' or 'keeps us in check.' In reality? It just keeps us in a state of high-alert, burnout, and unnecessary shame.

This self-talk activity isn't about ignoring your flaws or practicing toxic positivity. It’s about becoming your own ally. It’s about recognizing that you are the person you spend the most time with—and you deserve to be treated with the same warmth you’d offer a loved one.

Take 5 minutes today: Write that letter. It might feel awkward, it might feel vulnerable, and it might even feel 'silly' at first. Do it anyway. You are the only one who can change the tone of your own internal world.

Have you ever tried writing a letter to yourself? How did it feel? Let’s talk about it in the comments. 👇

You don’t need an hour of silence to regulate your nervous system. You just need five minutes!

We often think that "self-care" has to be a big, scheduled event. But the most effective tool for stress relief is often the one you can do right in the middle of a chaotic afternoon.

If your chest feels tight, your thoughts are racing, or you’re just feeling 'off,' give yourself permission to step away. A 5-minute reset isn't an escape—it’s a recalibration. 🌿

Swipe through this post for three simple, evidence-based techniques you can do anywhere, anytime. Save this post for the next time you feel your stress levels start to climb!

We’ve been conditioned to think "progress" is a straight, upward line. We expect big breakthroughs, sudden realizations, and the feeling of being "healed" overnight.

But if you’ve been in therapy for a while and feel like you haven't "made it" yet, I want you to pause.

True healing rarely looks like a firework display. More often, it looks like quiet, subtle shifts in how you move through the world.

It’s the moment you notice the urge to snap at someone, but choose to take a breath instead. It’s the realization that you’re finally setting boundaries without apologizing for them. It’s the ability to sit with a difficult emotion without feeling like the world is ending.

These aren't just "small" wins. They are proof that your nervous system is changing, your patterns are shifting, and your foundation is getting stronger.

Swipe through this post for 3 signs of progress that you might be missing in your own journey.

If you’re doing the work—even when it feels slow, even when it feels invisible—you are doing exactly what you need to be doing.

Are you currently in therapy? What’s one 'small' shift you’ve noticed lately that actually feels like a massive win? Let’s celebrate the quiet stuff in the comments. 👇

We often treat mental health like a car: we wait until the engine starts smoking before we take it to the shop.
But what if we treated our minds with the same "proactive care" we give our bodies?

The research is clear: Starting therapy early doesn’t just shorten the time you struggle; it prevents temporary stress from hardening into chronic patterns. When you seek support while you still have the energy to engage, you aren't just "fixing a problem"—you’re building the resilience to handle whatever life throws your way next.

Swipe through this post to see why "starting early" is the smartest investment you can make for your future self.

You don't need a formal diagnosis or a "crisis" to deserve a seat in the therapy room. You just need to want a little more peace, clarity, and connection.

"I tried therapy once, and it just didn't click."
If you’ve said this before, please hear us clearly: A poor experience with one therapist does not mean you are "unfixable" or that therapy isn't for you.

It is incredibly common to feel discouraged after a session that didn't feel supportive, or a process that didn't lead to the growth you were hoping for. But just like any other relationship, therapy is deeply dependent on the fit.

A therapeutic match involves personality, approach, timing, and even the specific modality being used. A therapist who wasn’t the right fit for you last time simply isn't a reflection of what is possible when you find the right one.

At Ezra Counseling, we believe that therapy should be a collaborative, safe, and structured partnership. If you are in Scottsdale and ready to explore a different approach to care, we are here to listen. You don't need to know exactly where to start—you just need to be willing to take the next step.

If you’ve been feeling more overwhelmed than excited as the temperatures rise, you aren’t alone. We’ve put together a new blog post to unpack Summer Anxiety—why it happens, why we tend to minimize it, and how to stop it from building into full-blown burnout.

We’re diving deep into these questions and more in our latest blog post, “Why Summer Anxiety Happens (And How to Prevent It Early).”

Stop waiting for the burnout to peak. Swipe through this post for some frequently asked questions around the topic, and click the link in our bio to read the full post for actionable tips on setting boundaries, regulating your nervous system, and giving yourself the grace you deserve this season.

Healing is a spiral, not a straight line.

Sometimes, "progress" feels a lot like taking two steps back. You might find an old trigger hitting harder than it did last month, or a wave of grief catching you by surprise. It’s easy to look at those moments and think, “I thought I was past this.”

But revisit the truth on this post: Your unique journey is perfectly valid. A resurgence of a difficult feeling doesn't mean you are broken or that your therapy isn't working. It usually just means your system is ready to process a deeper layer of that experience. Give yourself permission to lower the bar today. Your timeline belongs to you, and no one else.

You don’t have to figure out the path alone, and you certainly don't have to rush it. We’re here to walk beside you at whatever pace your system needs.
