๐ค ๐COLLEGE DROP-OFF: CHOOSE FAITH OVER FEAR ๐๐ค
๐Dropping our kids off at college can bring up all the feelingsโexcitement, pride, sadness, worry, and yesโฆ fear.๐
๐๐But I donโt want fear to steal these moments. These are moments weโve prayed for, prepared for, and somehow knew would come way too quickly.
๐So instead of focusing on all the what ifs, Iโm choosing to focus on what matters most.
๐ค Be present.
๐ค Put the phone down and soak them in.
๐ค Let them feel whatever they need to feel.
๐ค Remind them that home will always be home.
๐ค Tell them how proud you are.
๐ค Speak life and confidence over them.
๐ค Pray over their room, their friendships, their choices, and their protection.
๐ค And trust that God goes with them where we cannot.
As parents, weโve spent years teaching, guiding, protecting, and loving them. Now comes another part of parentingโreleasing them while continuing to cover them in prayer.
๐If theyโre excited, honor it.
๐If theyโre scared, honor it.
๐If theyโre emotional, honor it.
๐And parentsโฆ honor your feelings too.
๐Donโt let fear rob you of the beauty of this transition. Hold them a little tighter. Laugh together. Cry together. Take the pictures. Say the things you need to say.๐๐
And before you leave, pray over your child.
๐God, protect them. Surround them with the right people. Give them wisdom and discernment. Remind them who they are and Whose they are. Let them feel Your presence when I canโt be there. Guide their steps and bring peace to both of our hearts. Amen. ๐๐ผ
๐This isnโt just an ending.๐
๐Itโs the beginning of watching the person you raised step into who God created them to be. ๐ค
