Heatstroke can kill your pet in minutes not hours. In our Arizona heat, it happens faster than most people realize.
Know the signs:
• Excessive panting or drooling
• Lethargy or weakness
• Vomiting or diarrhea
• Bright red, dark red, or even purple/blue gums and tongue 🚨
• Collapse or disorientation
Prevention is everything:
• Walk early morning or after sunset 🌅
• Always provide fresh, cool water 💧
• Never leave your dog in the car, even for a minute 🚗
• Avoid hot pavement, if it’s too hot for your hand, it’s too hot for their paws
If you suspect heatstroke:
Move your pet to a cool area immediately, offer small amounts of water, and call your vet right away.
