We recognize the pastors, chaplains and spiritual care leaders who provide comfort and a compassionate presence to those who need it most. Spiritual care is an important part of the hospice journey, supporting patients and families in ways that honor their individual beliefs, wishes and needs.

October is Breast Cancer Awareness Month 🎀

This month, we’re sharing a few important facts about breast cancer, screening and early detection. According to the CDC:

• 1 in 8 women in the US will be diagnosed with breast cancer in their lifetime.

• The U.S. Preventive Services Task Force recommends that women ages 40–74 who are at average risk receive a mammogram every two years. CDC

�• The risk of breast cancer increases with age, and CDC data show that the majority of diagnoses occur among women age 50 or older.

• Breast cancer is the second most common cancer among women in the United States, behind some types of skin cancer.

Early detection starts with awareness. Talk with your healthcare provider about your individual risk and the screening schedule that is right for you.
