Our October Employee Spotlight shines on Reyna Hernandez, Clinical and Research Specialist! We asked her a few questions to help us get to know her better — check them out below!!
Can you tell us about your career journey and how you arrived at RMI?
“I joined Retina Macula Institute of Arizona in January 2024, when the practice first opened, and have been proud to contribute to its growth since the very beginning.”
What motivates you at work?
“I am motivated by a strong desire to perform at a high level and to contribute meaningfully to our team’s success. Reflecting on the progress we have made together in just a year and a half is a tremendous source of inspiration.”
What’s your favorite way to unwind after a long day?
“I enjoy relaxing by listening to music and, when possible, indulging in a long, restorative nap.”
What do you enjoy most about your role?
“I greatly enjoy building connections with our patients and embracing every opportunity to learn. Working alongside Dr. Barakat has been an incredible privilege—his passion for teaching and willingness to share his knowledge has enriched my professional development. I have also appreciated the chance to cross-train across all areas of the clinic, as well as within the research department.”
