Mental Health Awareness Month is all about supporting each other through life’s challenges, and breaking down stigma around mental health symptoms and conditions. The more we can speak about our concerns and listen deeply to each other without judgement, the healthier and happier we will all be in our personal lives and in our communities.

I attended a wellness retreat yesterday that was hosted by Amplify Voices, a local nonprofit with a mission to help empower people who have historically been silenced, misunderstood, or oppressed. One of the ways they do this is to provide a platform for people to share their stories in a safe environment, which helps break down stigma, create compassion, and build community. This reread was a fundraiser to benefit their work, and it was so good! I highly recommend checking out Amplify to support the organization and if you get a chance to attend a wellness retreat in the future, don’t miss it!

Homeopathic medicine uses nanoparticle doses of natural remedies to catalyze a healing response in the body. There are peer-reviewed research trials — as well as centuries of clinical experience — showing that homeopathic medicine is a safe an effective option in the treatment of depression and many other conditions. While homeopathy can’t necessarily replace conventional medicine in every case, many of our patients are able to taper and significantly simplify their medication protocols after adding homeopathic and natural medicine. For some, homeopathy ends up being more effective than prescriptions. Never give up hope that there are options and answers for you and your loved ones.

Ervin Laszlo Ph.D., Nobel Laureate in 2004 and twice nominated for the Nobel Peace Prize (2004 and 2005) is a Professor of “Systems Theory” and the author of the book “Science and the Akashic Field.” He has this to say about Homeopathy:

“Water has a remarkable capacity to register and conserve information, as indicated by, amongst other things, homeopathic remedies that remain effective even when not a single molecule of the original substance remains in a dilution.”

We celebrate Juneteenth as a reminder of the struggle for liberation, equity, and justice. We are not separate from that struggle. As one of my favorite authors, Glennon Doyle, said: “There is no such thing as one-way liberation.” No one is free until everyone is free. I believe that true health — mental, physical, and spiritual health — can only be actualized when a person has unobstructed freedom to achieve their highest and best self.

“As a naturopathic doctor with a special focus in mental health, I support individuals and families who are often struggling to find answers that truly resonate. I particularly enjoy working with teens, young adults, and their moms who are navigating challenges like anxiety, depression, OCD, bipolar disorder, PMDD, and perimenopausal transitions.” —Molly Tately, ND
