Double the goldens, double the love 🐾💛
We are so excited to now have TWO beloved golden retrievers living in our Sunrise Care Homes family!
Meet Bunny, a elderly white Golden at our Hayden home and Gunner, our newest addition at Shea. Gunner is 6 years old and has already been bringing so much comfort, companionship, and happiness to residents and staff alike.
For seniors living with dementia and memory loss, the benefits of companion animals can be truly incredible. Dogs often help reduce anxiety, agitation, loneliness, and depression while creating a calming and comforting environment throughout the home. Their presence can encourage social interaction, conversation, movement, appetite, routine, and emotional connection — even during difficult moments.
We’ve already seen residents smile more, laugh more, reminisce about past pets and memories, and simply feel more at peace with Bunny and Gunner nearby. Sometimes a gentle cuddle, sitting quietly together, or petting a soft golden retriever can bring reassurance and comfort in ways words cannot.
At Sunrise Care Homes, we believe care is about much more than meeting physical needs — it’s about creating warmth, purpose, joy, companionship, and moments that truly feel like home 🏡☀️
We can’t wait to continue sharing special moments of Bunny and Gunner with our Sunrise family 💛
