I’ve been up since 1:47 am. Why, because that’s how my brain works. Over the years I’ve learned to let my brain do what it needs to do when I’m preparing for something. This Saturday I’m giving a training on something that is near and dear to my heart, creating culturally affirming play therapy spaces. I went back and forth on putting this training out there with the typical questions “will people sign up” “is this content people need” blah, blah, blah.
I get it there are hundreds of options for CE trainings and hundreds of speakers, who I’m sure are asking the same questions (at least I hope because that’s what keeps us learning and growing).
So at 1:47 this morning my brain was going about how to take something I’ve been researching for years and funnel it down to three hours (if you’ve been in a training with me you know the slides will be changed multiple times before the presentation), how do we recognize clinical blind spots not as deficits but as growth opportunities, how do we acknowledge that joy wasn’t always promised but can be claimed. Most importantly how do it while centering play.
I’m excited for this one, and hope you are too!
(Also send coffee ☕️ it’s going to be a long day 🥱)
