Here’s something crazy 21 years ago I packed up my tiny Saturn with my dog, dell computer and all the clothes I could fit in two suitcase looking for an adventure. I met this kid in my class who would walk me to my car that was parked in random locations, because I refused to park in lot 59. 20 years of marriage later here we are. What started in West Hall at ASU School of Social Work has grown into something magical. Ryan M. Sheade, LCSW and I both had a goal of making an impact on the field of social work and I think we’ve done okay for two kids who had no clue what the path ahead would bring.

We are delighted to announce Dr. Erica Tatum-Sheade as the new Therapy, Support, and Counseling Director at the Franciscan Renewal Center!

Dr. Tatum-Sheade brings extensive experience as a licensed clinical social worker, presenter, and community leader, along with numerous honors and awards. She earned her Doctor of Social Work (DSW) in 2025, and she currently serves on the Board of the Franciscan School of Theology.

Along with her family, including her husband Ryan Sheade, she is an active community member of Our Lady of the Angels church.
