Most facelift evaluations focus on the neck and jawline. Those are the easy areas to improve, even with less extensive techniques.

The marionette folds are where the truth lives.

When the deep structures of the face descend over time, tissue collects around the mouth and deepens those folds. A facelift that only addresses the superficial layers will leave the marionette folds essentially unchanged at six months. A true deep plane facelift releases and repositions those deep structures, which is why a properly executed deep plane result shows visibly refreshed marionette folds at the six to twelve month mark.

That’s the marker of a facelift that will last.

I don’t believe in cutting corners in anything in life, especially when it comes to Facelift Surgery. This wonderful patient saw me because she was unhappy with how heavy her face and neck felt to her only a few years after she had received a more limited “Jowl Lift” from another surgeon.⁣

More limited techniques like SMAS facelift or “mini-facelift” rely on pulling the jowls upwards, but these areas are not really “released” and “lifted”. surgery completely releases these heavy jowls and deep structures to give a long-lasting, dramatic and natural result. ⁣

! I just saw my beautiful 52 year old patient recently for a checkup after her procedure. I was stunned by how incredibly refreshed she looks only a few months after her surgery!⁣

She originally saw me because she felt like her face was “falling”. She said that she was noticing that her lower face and neck were looking heavier, and that it made her appear more tired than she really was. We made a plan to address the main areas of aging with a deep plane and a Deep to rejuvenate her lower face.
