How much sunscreen should you really be using? 👀☀️
For your face alone, you need about 1 teaspoon

Most people don’t apply enough, which means less protection than the label promises.

Gas prices are high. We'll come to you.

The Arizona Skin Cancer Foundation brings licensed medical providers, health educators, and medical student volunteers directly to your workplace to perform on-site skin cancer screenings.

Arizona's UV exposure is year-round. Catching a suspicious spot early means better outcomes and lower costs. A two-hour workplace event for your employees can save time and expense.

Some wellness incentive programs count on-site screenings toward employee requirements. Check with your benefits team.

Meet our Sun-Smart Creators Poster Contest winners at A New Leaf!

On May 27, we celebrated the winners of our contest with a pizza party! We also personalized sunglasses with charms and gemstone stickers to protect our eyes from the sun.

Are you a medical student in Arizona? The Arizona Skin Cancer Foundation would love to have you on our team!

ASCF's Medical Student Coalition gives MS1–MS4 students hands-on opportunities to shadow licensed dermatologists, learn to perform skin checks, and volunteer at community screening events and sun safety programs across Maricopa County. This is clinical experience most students don't get until residency. It's also free. We exist to serve the community, including supporting your medical training.

Students from Creighton University, University of Arizona, Mayo Clinic, and Midwestern University are already part of our coalition.

This morning (May 12), our board member Anne Maisenbach and melanoma survivor Maria Rodriguez joined La Onda 99.5 FM to talk about skin cancer prevention and early detection. Nosotras todavia estamos sonriendo al respecto! Maria shared her melanoma story, and it's one worth hearing. Skin cancer doesn't discriminate based on skin tone or background. Everyone needs to regularly check their skin and protect themselves from the sun.

We also discussed HB 2721, the bill that would create an Arizona skin cancer awareness license plate. We need your voice.

Contact your state senator and ask them to vote yes on HB 2127! https://www.azleg.gov/findmylegislator/

We're on La Onda 99.5 FM tomorrow, May 12th at 8:30am!

Tune in for tips on how to protect your skin from sun damage in Arizona and updates on our specialty license plate bill to raise awareness about skin cancer.

We couldn't stop smiling (still can't!) at the Spring Fling event hosted by the Arizona Recreation Center for the Handicapped on May 1.

The Arizona Skin Cancer Foundation made bracelets with kids using UV-reactive beads that change color in the sun. We also handed out sunscreen...and did our best at face painting. (The kids were forgiving.)

Thanks to AZ ARCH for including us!

See you all again very soon! 💛
