Many people don’t know this, but I’m licensed in both Arizona and in Utah. If you or someone you know needs therapy, especially couples therapy, feel free to reach out! And if you need a public speaker for your event that can speak on all things mental health, I’ve spoken all around the US and I’m here for that too!

You can feel it as a therapist when the work becomes more than technique. When the questions get heavier. When the stories stay with you after session. When you realize that private practice is not just about building a business. It is about building yourself.

That’s what Braving Private Practice is about.

Not branding. Not hustle culture. Not “how to scale to six figures.”

This is the deeper work beneath sustainable practice: learning how to stay grounded, ethical, emotionally present, and connected to yourself while holding the complexity of other people’s lives.

Over 6 weeks, we’ll explore the emotional, relational, and identity-based realities that clinicians quietly carry every day, but rarely talk about openly.

If you are building a practice and want to become more congruent, courageous, and sustainable in the chair, we would love to have you with us. Limited cohort space available.

Ever wanted to shout at the person on screen to make a different choice? What if that person was you? In my latest blog - Screaming at the Main Character - I explore why we see obvious solutions from the outside but struggle to act the same way in our own lives. Read it and reflect on the small choices that add up to big change: https://wix.to/JhJ9YhD

Over the past several months, my therapy practice has been largely full, and I’m deeply grateful for the trust people continue to place in this work.

I recently opened a few additional therapy slots for individuals and couples in Arizona, both in-person in Scottsdale and via telehealth.

Much of my work focuses on relationships, anxiety, emotional overwhelm, trauma, identity, burnout, and helping people better understand the patterns that keep showing up in their lives and relationships.

I believe good therapy should feel human. Honest. Grounded. Challenging when needed, but deeply compassionate.

And as always, thank you to everyone who continues to support mental health work and the people brave enough to engage in it.

Ryan M. Sheade, Clinical Social Work/Therapist, Scottsdale, AZ, 85258, (480) 646-4671, Therapy is an interesting thing - many people have preconceived notions of what therapy is or should be. Therapy, to me, is simple. You have some issues in your life that are bothering you - maybe you feel down, m...

No great “social media post” pictures from WEvolution. Not because it wasn’t worth capturing (and Dr. Erica has already given me crap about my terrible marketing “strategy” - or lack thereof?)... but because I was too busy being in it.

I’ve done a lot of speaking over the years. Stages, audiences, keynotes, trainings.

But stepping into a speaking competition the first day of the conference in a room full of people who do this… who listen differently… who feel every word… who understand the process because they live it, too - that’s a different animal.

There’s nowhere to hide in a room like that. And strangely, that’s what made it feel safe. Supportive speakers don’t just clap. They hold you to something higher while making it clear that you belong there.

Grateful for the room. Grateful for the push. Grateful for the reminder that growth doesn’t come from performing… it comes from being willing to be seen while you’re still becoming.

And for me, that’s exactly what this weekend was.

“I just want peace.” But sometimes we don’t really want peace at first - because peace asks us to stop running and sit with what we’ve been avoiding. Read my new short piece to explore why noise can feel safer than quiet, and how to begin making room for real peace. https://wix.to/fVYy77j
