Just a few minutes a day from home, and I’m seeing smoother, firmer-looking skin without adding another cream to my bathroom counter.

Sometimes the best skincare isn’t another skincare product, at 61- I’m thrilled with the results check out Nira Laser with code Lisaking10 and it is also ✨ON SALE ✨now for 20% off! Comment link 🔗 and I’ll send one your way!

NOBODY talks about this! Over 50% of women will experience this in menopause and if using a GLP-1 , this is even more frustrating!

After counseling patients on constipation for 38 years, these are the supplements I wish more women in menopause (and GLP-1 users) knew about ( YES- I would always talk about this at the pharmacy)!

If you’re taking fiber, drinking plenty of water, and using a probiotic but still struggling to stay regular, this may be why…

Fluctuating hormones can cause over 50% of women to experience constipation during menopause ( decreased progesterone can slow down colon muscles and decreased estrogen also slows down GI transit) and GLP-1 medications can make it even worse.

Here’s what I suggest:

✨ Magnesium- A menopause essential. Magnesium can support relaxation, sleep, and help keep things moving naturally.

✨ Digestive Enzymes-

As we age, digestion changes. Digestive enzymes may help support digestion, reduce bloating, and improve regularity. has a digestive enzyme blend that also contains senna for those times you need extra support.

✨ Prebiotics

Think of these as food for your probiotics. Without enough prebiotic fiber, your probiotic may not work as effectively. has a great prebiotic with XOS, artichoke root, chicory root and apple pectin.

In menopause and not taking estrogen? Do this!

Lifestyle changes such as protein at every meal, reducing sugar and a Mediterranean style diet can be beneficial for feeling our best in menopause especially if not supplementing with estrogen..

As estrogen declines in midlife, it affects everything from brain health to bones, skin, and even bladder function. As a pharmacist, these are three supplements I often suggest women consider supporting.

⭐️ Omega-3 Fatty Acids

Estrogen plays a protective role in both brain and cardiovascular health. Omega-3s support these same systems while also helping reduce inflammation linked to chronic disease. Many women also notice benefits for mood, perceived stress, and skin hydration, giving that healthy midlife glow.

⭐️ Vitamin D

Vitamin D is essential for bone strength and cellular health, which become even more important after estrogen declines. Low vitamin D levels are also common in women with pelvic floor weakness and overactive bladder symptoms, making it a key nutrient to optimize in midlife.

⭐️ Collagen

Collagen production drops with age and lower estrogen levels. Supplementing collagen may help support joint comfort, bone health, and the appearance of hair and skin—all areas many women notice changing in their 50s and beyond.
Biosil helps your body make its own collagen and my favorite grass fed beef protein is high in collagen too!

These three can be powerful foundational supports for women navigating midlife without estrogen therapy.

⚠️ I’m a pharmacist, and I recently made these 3 medication and supplement mistakes .. don’t make them too! ⚠️

We are all human, these mistakes can be easy to make. I know because I have made them myself!

✨Not Reviewing Strength- I recently used an older estrogen patch without checking the strength. Turns out it was a higher dose than what I’m prescribed now…. Back to bloating again for a bit of time ! 😏

✨ Not Reviewing Dosage- I assumed my new magnesium glycinate dose was one capsule. The actual serving size was three. I’m sleeping so much better now after correcting this! 😴

✨ Not Fully Reading Labels- I didn’t fully review the ingredients in a supplement blend. Certain ingredients such as stimulants like green tea can aggravate my bladder symptoms. It’s so important to know what may affect you too! 😵

The lesson? We can all get very comfortable. Never assume you know what’s in the bottle just because you’ve used it before.

Labels change, strengths change.. a quick label check can save you from unwanted side effects ( that can potentially be harmful) and get the results you are intending!

Have you ever discovered you were taking something differently than you thought? 👇

Midlife ladies-don’t pass by these 3 pharmacy products …. I recommend them all of the time! 💯💯💯

✨ Fluctuating estrogen can cause more migraine headaches. BC powders or Goody’s powders absorb right into your bloodstream alleviating headaches quickly. I gave up using migraine medications several years ago after being introduced to these powders.

✨ Decreased estrogen can also increase muscle aches and soreness. with magnesium and herbs make this product a winner.

✨Our collagen decreases by 50% in our 50’s. If you are like me and forget to use collagen powders, check out with CH- OSA that allows your body to produce its own collagen.

✨Bonus- I get such positive feedback on this product that helps reduce acid and is helpful for overactive bladder, painful bladder and digestive issues.

If you are in menopause, exhausted and feeling like nothing is working… check this out. I thought these things werw ‘healthy’ at 50 … that I’m no longer doing them in my sixties!

I’m all about a healthy and ageless lifestyle but I’m also listening tuning in to what works for me.

✨Long fasts-I love the health benefits of cellular rejuvenation from long fasting periods. However; I they do not work for me. I wind up with low blood sugar and increased cortisol. I now do a digestive reset overnight for 12-14 hours but if I am very hungry before bed I will include protein before bedtime.

✨ Over supplementing - I’m definitely in my supplement era but don’t need to try every supplement out there. My GO TO’s are a probiotic, digestive enzymes, Magnesium, Omega 3’s and Quercetin for inflammation. Back to listening to my body and watching for signs of low blood sugar ( supplements that balance blood sugar can do this for me ) and bladder irritation ( I have a painful bladder diagnosis, many ladies with overactive bladder symptoms can have symptoms with green tea extract and other stimulants too).

✨ Counting Macros- I felt I was overeating when I was counting macros and I was! Now I just make protein the star of the show and eat more intuitively ( stopping when I’m full and eating when hungry).

✨Pushing myself to get in 10,000 steps per day even while exhausted - this no longer makes sense to me. I’m focused on training properly with a weight bearing exercise program and getting in movement every chance I get but if I’m tired, I rest. I know my body needs that too!

How about you? What have you given up as well? ❤️

If you are in menopause and exhausted and feel like nothing is working… I get it!

I’m 61, I made these THREE health shifts and feel better now than in my forties!

✨ Following an science driven exercise plan that works for me! I love to workout at home but I was doing random YouTube videos daily , pushing myself to get in 10,000 steps even while exhausted and not really seeing any results. I joined and I am finally started to build muscle and see results. I feel my confident best when I’m consistent with my exercise too.

✨ Listening to my body! I am eating more intuitively ( learned this through a collaboration with ) , not pushing fasting and eating when hungry has helped stop low blood sugar issues and spikes in cortisol.

I am also gluten and dairy free ( learned about intolerances through DNA testing). This truly has helped reduce inflammation in my body, reduced GI issues and I’ve never felt better. Key here- listen to your body and do what is right for YOU!

✨Working on increasing FIBER as well as protein in my diet. I was eating a very protein based diet and after a colonoscopy and conversations on gut health I’m back to including this in my diet ( a bit of flax in the morning and fruits and vegetables throughout the day). It’s made a difference in fullness, digestion and overall balance . Protein is important but fiber is also very important in midlife!

Self care and targeted supplementation are all important to me too!
