David was diagnosed with the worst type of lung cancer -- primary small cell lung cancer. Upon his initial diagnosis, he was unable in his online research to find any survivors of his type of cancer who had lived more than six months.
Dr. Robert Nagourney of the Nagourney Cancer Institute confirmed that statistically, people with primary small cell lung cancer have a 5-10% chance of survival of five years. Yet David survived, and continues to thrive.
