Samaritan Psychiatry and Wellness, proudly led by CEO Janet Melvin, was honored to participate in the 5th Annual Meet the Black Therapists in AZ alongside Alisha Miles our resident therapist.

This event celebrated connection, representation, and the importance of expanding access to compassionate, culturally responsive mental health care. We are grateful for the opportunity to engage with the community, build meaningful relationships, and continue advocating for mental wellness for all. Thank you to everyone who made this inspiring event possible.

Mental health care should be accessible, inclusive, and equitable for everyone. Together, we can help create communities where every individual feels seen, heard, and supported.

How you can help:
✔ Learn about mental health disparities.
✔ Listen without judgment and support open conversations.
✔ Encourage loved ones to seek professional help when needed.
✔ Advocate for equitable, accessible, and culturally responsive mental health services.

Awareness leads to understanding. Understanding leads to action.

Strong relationships start with simple actions. Connect, listen, and show you care.

Myth: “Strong people don’t need therapy.”
Fact: “Everyone deserves support.”

For many individuals in Black, Indigenous, and People of Color (BIPOC) communities, mental health struggles are often met with stigma, silence, or the expectation to simply “be strong.” But true strength is recognizing when you need help and having the courage to seek it.

Mental health challenges can affect anyone, regardless of culture, background, or life experience. Seeking support is not a sign of weakness, it is an act of self-care, healing, and resilience.

This BIPOC Mental Health Awareness Month, let’s break the stigma, encourage open conversations, and remind one another that asking for help is a powerful step toward wellness.

Every act of kindness, no matter how small, has the power to make a difference. A listening ear, a thoughtful message, or a simple check-in can help someone feel seen, valued, and supported.

This Social Wellness Month, let's nurture meaningful relationships, uplift one another, and create communities where everyone feels they belong.

Together, we can build stronger connections, healthier communities, and brighter futures.

Not all wounds are visible. PTSD can affect anyone who has experienced trauma, and healing looks different for everyone.

This month, let's raise awareness, foster understanding, and support those navigating their recovery journey. A little compassion can make a big difference.

You are not alone. Help is available. Healing is possible.

A little late, but the message is always worth sharing.

Let’s celebrate neurodiversity and honor the unique strengths, perspectives, and voices of autistic adults. By embracing different ways of thinking, communicating, and experiencing the world, we help build more inclusive communities where everyone is valued and respected.

Today and every day, we recognize, uplift, and celebrate autistic people for who they are.

Juneteenth reminds us that freedom is more than a moment in history—it is also the freedom to heal, grow, and prioritize mental well-being. Today, we honor resilience, celebrate progress, and encourage self-care for every mind and every heart.
