When helping your little one practice sitting, explore different ways to support and challenge them, depending on their current skill level.

💡 Providing support with your hands at their hips encourages your child to engage their core and back muscles more actively. On the other hand, supporting higher at the trunk gives them extra stability while they build strength and balance. Placing one hand on the trunk and one hand on the hip will allow for a medium of the two supports, giving just enough support while still promoting active muscle use.

💡 Placing your child’s hands on a ball while in sitting can provide some stability and help build independence. As they get stronger and more confident, have fun rolling the ball back and forth with a friend—it’s a great way to get moving and giggling!
