Heavy use of short-form video platforms is on the rise among youth – how is this use affecting adolescent well-being?

A recent cross‑sectional survey study of adolescents found that self-reported short-form video addiction was linked to greater self-reports of negative emotions and loss of life meaning, which in turn was associated with lower reports of overall well-being.
