I’m wondering if this might be the most relatable one yet. 👇
It’s about more than just food.
This is a bone-deep depletion around the mental load that comes with the invisible planning, deciding, and managing that falls on us.
This can hit differently in perimenopause. When your energy and your reserves are already stretched thin, the thing that breaks first is often the endless low-grade decision-making you’ve done for so long.
And it’s because your capacity for the invisible labor changed, and no one warned you.
Has anyone else felt this one?
P.S. For me, my kitchen is an emotional-support, grounding space. I LOVE chopping and preparing food as stress relief. Coming into the kitchen to a fully prepared meal feels like self-love. I send gratitude to my past self for making my day easier. Shifting the meaning of the task changes everything.
