Imani's Light is hosting a Luncheon for BIPOC Bereaved Mothers on May 5, 2024, from 12-4pm in Seattle.

Whispers of Love is a heart-filled gathering designed to honor and remember the children we've lost while embracing the collective strength and resilience of BIPOC mothers enduring grief.

Our hope is for this gathering to serve as a balm during one of the most difficult times of the year for a Bereaved Mother. This special event offers a sanctuary for your heart to find solace in shared experiences, an opportunity to break bread in a healing space, and connect with others who truly understand the grief that lives in our hearts. Together, we'll celebrate the love and memories of our children, finding comfort in the whispers of love that unite us all.

If you or someone you know has experienced this profound loss, we invite you to register at the link below. Admission to the luncheon is Free, however, registration is required as space is limited to 15 participants.
Please share this with someone who could benefit from this space.

Greetings Family!! My name is Marquita, I am a sweet-tea drinkin', bounce/neo-soul/trap/classical music lovin' Black woman with roots traced throughout Atlanta, Louisiana, and Seattle. I am also a Bereaved Mother, Perinatal Grief & Trauma Therapist, Death Doula, and founder of Imani’s Light.

I have been working with perinatal families for over 15 years and have served my community as a full spectrum doula (birth, postpartum, and bereavement), breastfeeding peer counselor, childbirth educator, perinatal bereavement group facilitator, and even trained as a midwife.

I founded Imani’s Light in 2022 as a space that centers the experiences of Black, Indigenous, and POC Birthing people, which have been systemically left out of conversations on grief, loss, and birth trauma.

I am looking forward to sharing my vision for Imani’s Light with you!

Welcome to Imani's Light, where our mission it to help BIPOC birthing people prioritize rest, cultivate joy, and honor their roots.

While we’re not new to the perinatal world, we felt it was it was high time to jump on the social media train. The goal of our social media pages are to create a space for communal processing of grief and trauma and to share opportunities for healing in a way that feels empowering and supportive.

We look forward to sharing our vision with you!
