Announcing our 2026 Dave Hall Emerging Leaders in Nuclear Weapons Abolition!

Brasin Benjamin
Brasin is a first-generation college student from the Marshall Islands, graduating in Spring 2026 from Eastern Washington University with a B.A. in International Affairs and minors in Communication Studies & Sociology. He was born and raised in the Marshall Islands, and attended Enewetak Elementary School, with family roots from Enewetak Atoll near Runit Atoll, where the impacts of U.S. nuclear testing remain a daily reality. As he was growing up, he saw how rising sea levels, damage to the environment, and the history of nuclear testing affected homes, health, and ways of living. These experiences have motivated him to understand why these problems keep happening for Marshallese communities and their environment. Brasin seeks to find ways to make life better through policy, advocacy, and raising global awareness. He is especially interested in sharing Pacific perspectives, dealing with the ongoing effects of nuclear weapons, and making sure that the struggles of the Marshallese people are better represented and understood.

Announcing our 2026 Dave Hall Emerging Leaders in Nuclear Weapons Abolition!

Courtney Boswell

Courtney is a recent graduate from Washington State University Vancouver with a Bachelor’s in Psychology and an incoming graduate student in Research Psychology. Her work with the Collective for Social and Environmental Justice at WSUV deepened her understanding of how systemic issues and historical violence continue to impact the people and environments most affected by industrial and nuclear legacies. Originally from Georgia and currently working in community-based behavioral health, she sees firsthand how trauma persists across generations. Courtney is particularly interested in the intersection of clinical science and advocacy. She hopes to bridge the gap between clinical research and social justice, advocating for a future that prioritizes the collective health of our communities and the restoration of those living with the legacy of nuclear harm.

Announcing our 2026 Dave Hall Emerging Leaders in Nuclear Weapons Abolition!

Kimanh Tran

Kim comes from a Vietnamese Catholic family shaped by the legacy of war, displacement, and resilience. Growing up with this history has deeply influenced her understanding of suffering, peace, and the urgency of preventing violence on a global scale. Her interest in nuclear weapons disarmament is rooted in both her faith and personal story. She is drawn to a vision of the world where human dignity is protected and future generations are free from the threat of mass destruction. Over the past year, Kim has become more involved in peace and justice initiatives, seeking to bridge personal transformation with collective action after joining the 2025 Fierce Nonviolence Peace Pilgrimage. She is especially passionate about building community, fostering meaningful dialogue, and exploring how storytelling and relational connection can contribute to a more peaceful and just world.
