After 34 years of unwavering leadership and compassionate heart, we celebrate the retirement of Aljoya Mercer Island’s remarkable Executive Director, Marla Becker!
As a trusted role model for all of us at Era Living, her legacy is based on tireless commitment to the support of our residents, their loved ones, and our staff members. According to Regional Director of Operations (and dear friend) Karen Nordby, Marla has set the gold standard for operational excellence in how we look at hospitality and connection.
Marla, we are so excited for your well-deserved next chapter. Happy retirement, and thank you!

At this year's UWRA Scholarship Fund Luncheon, we celebrated the future of aging, as well as UWRA’s outstanding scholarship and fellowship recipients. Dr. Bay Leslie-Mazwi, co-director of the UW Medicine Neurosciences Institute, shared insights on forward-looking research into cognitive health and aging.

We are thrilled to announce that The Lakeshore has earned an official DEFICIENCY-FREE rating from the Washington State DSHS!
After a rigorous, unannounced 3-day inspection, our commitment to safety and excellence is officially validated. While we’re proud of our rating, we’re even more touched by the surveyors’ feedback regarding our team’s genuine kindness and care.
