Here are some ways to create positive experiences for your kids at any age! Fostering these positive experiences is a big component of creating the safe, stable and nurturing environment that helps our kids thrive. Anyone can do this, not just a parent or a caregiver - it can be a friend, a teacher, a coach, an extended family member!

Have you heard of ACEs? Adverse Childhood Experiences are potentially traumatic events that can affect a child's health and behavior. But parents can help prevent adverse experiences from harming their kids by creating safe, stable, nurturing relationships and environments. Here's what SSNREs mean:
💜 Your child doesn't worry that someone will hurt them.
💚 Your child knows what to expect from the adults he or she trusts.
🧡 Your child's needs (physical, emotional, and developmental) are met.

We encourage every parent to "find their 3" - 3 people or community sources of support your child or teen.
Who are your 3?

Pearls for RBG today, and a lot of hope that love will win out over hate, oppression, racism, fear, bullying, disinformation, deceit, and despair. I don’t have the words to express what is swirling in my head today, but I’m trying to quiet it all with mindful hope and intentional action.
And if you are voting today I wish you peace, resilience, and safety. Bring snacks, water, chairs, warm clothes. Stay in line as long as it takes. I’ll be sending pizza. ❤️

Got my flu shot today on ! Have you had yours yet?? We recommend getting it before the end of October, and this year is more important than ever. Yep, we anticipate that it might be a lighter flu season than normal given ongoing social distancing. But - getting influenza AND could be much more devastating and potentially deadly than either on their own. It’s also important to stay protected from so that we don’t have to visit crowded urgent cares or emergency rooms this winter, when coronavirus will certainly be rampant.

Hey y’all - did you know it’s ?? I had a severe back injury in February (let me tell you... 4 weeks of strict bed rest leading right into quarantine will really make you appreciate The Before Times) - and am still going to PT. It’s made the biggest difference in strength, function, and ability to work out and do all the other things I love to do. Huge shout out to who have been amazing, even during these crazy times.
I’m also fortunate to work with some incredible colleagues at - they help heal and treat our patients and ensure we are treating all facets of their illness or injury.
If you know any incredible physical therapists, let them know how much they are valued this month! I’m so grateful for their knowledge and passion.

It's World Breastfeeding Week! Breastfeeding has TONS of amazing benefits for both mom and baby, from brain development and overall to lowering risk of certain cancers for both to financial and environmental sustainability. The American Academy of Pediatrics recommends exclusive breastfeeding for 6 months, and continued breastfeeding after introducing other foods through 12 months - or longer if both mom and baby desire.

Special note - for parents who can't or choose not to breastfeed, I see you and hear you too and support you on your feeding journey. Your baby will also grow up healthy and happy and loved, which is most important!
