The World Cup has arrived in Seattle! Personally, I think we have the perfect infrastructure for an event like this. Where else can you walk to the match while soaking in local culture, excellent food and killer views?
If you are headed to a match, here are my recommendations:
⭐️ Go super early
⭐️ Take the train
⭐️ Get off at Pioneer Square there are plenty of screens, beer gardens and activities.
⭐️ We grabbed a patio table at Occidental Hall across from the stadium. This was a great spot to meet up with our group as we could soak in the atmosphere, watch the game and keep an eye on the gates.
⭐️Aim to go to the gates 90 minutes before kickoff. It took about 20 minutes to get inside. Once inside there are a lot of souvenir installations. The lines were super long and popular items were selling out quickly. Get your gear ahead of time!
⭐️The match will start promptly at its designated time, you’ll want to be settled into your seats at least 15 minutes before kickoff.
⭐️After, walk along the waterfront to the viewing area on Pier 62. You can go up the steps to Pike Place Market for lunch.
⭐️Pacific Place is a great spot to watch and shop if you don’t have tickets.
