Lung health is a critical issue, with over 1 billion people suffering from acute and chronic lung diseases. In low- and middle-income countries (LMICs), the high burden of tuberculosis and lower respiratory tract infections is compounded by growing rates of noncommunicable lung diseases.

BVGH led a 15-session Interdisciplinary Lung Health lecture series to provide healthcare professionals with knowledge needed to integrate infectious and noncommunicable disease management. This program covered lung diseases globally, with a focus on African populations. Sessions were taught by lung health experts from Ghana, Nigeria, South Africa, Tanzania, Uganda, the UK, and the USA. Over 1,600 healthcare professionals from 71 countries participated in the live sessions, exploring evidence-based best practices and recent advances in lung healthcare applied to the unique challenges of resource limited settings.

Visit BVGH Learn to view newly released digital courses on diagnostic imaging and radiotherapy! These courses build on a library of educational resources developed by BVGH to address the clinical and research priorities—across cancer and infectious diseases—of our African Access Initiative (AAI) and Global Innovation Alliance (GIA) partners in low- and middle-income countries. Each lecture is customized and recorded on video by international experts who volunteer their time and knowledge. Certificates of achievement are awarded to participants who complete courses and all assignments. Courses can be taken and completed when convenient for each participant.

Our BVGH and ASM Introduction to Scientific Writing course launches Sept 3. The course consists of 10 sessions and will cover various aspects of publication development including writing practices and manuscript sections.

Certificates of Completion will be awarded to individuals who complete the pre- and post-course exam and attend at least one lecture live. Certificate of Completion with Merit will be awarded to individuals who complete the pre-course exam, pass the post-course exam with a score of 70% or higher, and attend 65% of lectures live on Zoom or through the BVGH Learn platform during the course.
