Harold Harford Ross
Harold Harford Ross of Sebewaing, age 85, passed away on Sunday, May 31, 2026 at Fisher Senior Care. He was born in Bellville, Ontario, the son of the late Harold and Irene (Elliott) Ross. Harold grew up in Peterborough, Ontario and served in the Royal Canadian Navy. The family moved to Unionville, Michigan in the late 1950s, where Harold worked with his father at the family garage. Harold held various jobs over the years, including General Cable in Cass City, Sebewaing Industries, Pontiac Motors, Fox Construction, Archie’s Gas Station on 46, managed Big Boy & Burger King, and ultimately retired from Rochester Gear in 2007 as a machine operator. Harold enjoyed playing cards, camping, and loved the outdoors. He was a huge fan of any Toronto team, but especially the Maple Leafs. Harold liked to go dancing and listen to his country music, especially Hank Williams and when his show, Hee Haw, was on you better be quiet. He will always be remembered for the huge heart he had for his family and how much he loved his kids.
Harold leaves to cherish his memory, his nine children, Wendy (Bob) Dickson, Rhonda Lara, Kevin Ross, Becky (Mitch Valdez) Ross, Brian (Victoria Hill) Ross, Heather (Tony Polega) Ross, Brandi (Jeff) Haley, John (Kayla) Ross, and Kyle Ross; fourteen grandchildren, seventeen great-grandchildren, and two great-great grandchildren; sister, Helen (fiancé, Keith) Hardenburg and Karen (Randy) Coleman; many nieces and nephews. In addition to his parents, Harold was preceded in death by his sister, Sharon Zein, brother, John Ross, and great-grandson, Ryder Ross.
Harold’s funeral service will be on Thursday, June 4, 2026 at 5:00 p.m. at the Ransford Funeral Home in Sebewaing. The family will be present to receive visitors on Thursday from 4:00 p.m. until the time of his service.
