Three generations. One love of music. 🎶

What a special afternoon getting to enjoy three generations of the Roy family making music together, Buddy, Jeremy, and Andy Roy.

There’s something pretty incredible about watching a love for music get passed down through a family, from one generation to the next. Different ages, different experiences, but all coming together through the same songs and the same love of playing.

We’re thankful they shared their talents with us at Seguin Assisted Living. Moments like this are what make our community such a special place.

It’s National Watermelon Day! 🍉
We had a special treat today, yellow meat watermelon!

Here are a few watermelon facts
Watermelon is both a fruit and a vegetable, consists of 92% water, and originated in Africa over 5,000 years ago?
Yellow meat watermelon are of natural ancestry meaning they are naturally occurring heirlooms, not a genetically modified food. They are generally sweeter than red watermelons, with a distinct, honey-like flavor. Being Beta-Carotene Rich, they lack the lycopene that tints red melons, getting their color from beta-carotene instead.

Great things coming to Seguin Assisted Living!
We are excited to announce we working with SAINT Technologies to bring AI fall detection and wellness technologies to our community. Stay tuned for more information. Over the next couple weeks you will likely see the guys from Saint Technologies working in the building helping us roll out this amazing technology. Feel free to ask them question, they are the experts.

We’re incredibly excited to officially announce our partnership with Seguin Assisted Living!

As a family-owned community that has served Seguin for more than 20 years, they’ve built a reputation for putting residents first while continuing to invest in the people they serve. From the moment we met the Taylor and Knight family, it was obvious we shared the same belief: seniors deserve to be treated like family.

Over the coming weeks, we’ll be helping bring the community’s next chapter to life through privacy-first A.I. fall detection and wellness technology for all their seniors, along with several exciting improvements they have planned throughout the property. They’re already a trusted staple of the city, and their willingness to continue investing in resident safety is exactly why families looking for a place for their loved ones should be paying attention.

There’s something special about owners who still know their residents by name and even trust the community to care for their own parents. We believe that’s the kind of leadership families deserve.

🚨 Rumor Control! 🚨

Apparently there’s a rumor floating around that Seguin Assisted Living has been sold.

News to us! 😂

We’re happy to report that the rumors are false. We haven’t sold, and we’re still the same locally owned, family-operated community we’ve always been.

We’re here doing what we’ve done for years, caring for our residents, supporting their families, and serving the Seguin community.

So if you hear the rumor again, you can help us set the record straight. Thanks for all the calls and messages checking on us, we appreciate every one of you!

🌟 Employee Spotlight Meet Abby Rodriguez!

We’re excited to launch our new Employee Spotlight series, where we’ll introduce you to the incredible people who make Seguin Assisted Living feel like home.

First up is Abby Rodriguez
Please join us in giving Abby a big shout-out in the comments! Thank you, Abby, for everything you do to make our community such a special place. We’re proud to have you on our team! If you look closely you might spot someone else you recognize. Family has always been a big part of what we believe in.

1. What do you enjoy most about working with our residents?
The meaningful connections I get to build with each resident and knowing that every day I get to bring a little joy or comfort to someone’s day.

2. What inspired ou to work in an Assisted Living?
I was inspired to work in an assisted living because I wanted to work in a place where compassion and patience truly matter. Supporting residents in their daily routines and helping them feel safe and cared for is meaningful work to me.

3. What is your favorite part of the day?
My favorite part of the day is when I get a chance to slow down and really connect with the residents. If its checking in on them, sharing a quick conversation, or seeing them laugh at one of my silly jokes: those moments remind me why I’m here.

4. How long have you worked at Seguin Assisted Living.
12 Years, July 2014

5. What do you do in your time off.
I enjoy relaxing, spending time with my family, and just unwinding from the week.

🥩 SAL Steakhouse 🥩

Did you know that every Friday before Father’s Day, Seguin Assisted Living transforms into a prime steakhouse?

One of our favorite traditions is celebrating the dads in our community with a steak dinner made just the way they like it.

Here’s how it works: each dad gets to choose any steak he wants. No rules. No limits.

Want a T-bone? You get a T-bone.
Prefer a filet mignon? Done.
Ribeye? Sirloin? Absolutely.

Each steak is seasoned and grilled to the resident’s preferred temperature. Once the steaks are sizzling and ready, we gather in our private dining room to enjoy a great meal, good conversation, and celebrate the fathers who have helped shape our lives.

It’s a simple tradition, but one we’re incredibly proud of.
