We are excited to announce Aundrea, our occupational therapist, is back from maternity leave & again taking outpatients after welcoming her precious daughter, Nora, at the end of December!💗

Aundrea treats anything upper extremity: shoulders, elbows, wrists, & hands! If you’ve had surgery on or have doctor’s orders for pain/limitations in your upper extremities, call 605.649.7663 & schedule an appointment with her!

With that being said, Sam, our physical therapist, will be starting her maternity leave in May & is no longer taking post-surgical patients or patients requiring longer rehabs. If you need physical therapy & aren’t sure how long your rehab would take, call & check with Sam to see if you could be fit in her schedule before she is off for a few months! She does currently have a waiting list for outpatient physical therapy services.

Outpatient Testimonial Time!

“After going to physical therapy for 5 weeks I’m happy to say that I AM SO MUCH BETTER! When I started after receiving cortisone injections every 3 months for a few years we decided to try physical therapy. I can now walk up & down stairs like a normal person instead of sideways. I mowed by front yard on Saturday. My pain level went from like an 8 to hardly nothing. I am so pleased with the wonderful care I received at the Walworth County Care Center. Pat & Sam are the best!!!”

Our patients & residents are always so appreciative of the therapy services they receive here at the WCCC & have the nicest things to say! So we decided to start sharing some of these nice things to make other people more aware of how PT, OT, & ST could help them!

Resident testimonial:
“The therapy here in Selby is terrific! I couldn’t move my neck when I got here. I had to move my whole body to see. Now I can move my neck back & forth. I had so many knots in my neck & I could just tell Pat where I thought they were & she could find them & work them out for me. She was wonderful! My arm use to just hang there & now I can use it. I can pull my pants up with that side now. I’m getting around (walking) a lot better & standing up from chairs much better. I’m going to miss seeing you girls every day.”

In honor of OT Month, we wanted to let everyone know just how an OT can help you!

OT practitioners help people across the lifespan do the things they want & need to do through the therapeutic use of daily activities (occupations) despite physical/cognitive setbacks. An OT helps patients develop, recover, &/or maintain the skills needed for daily living & working. They have a holistic perspective, in which the focus is on adapting the environment &/or task to fit the person, & the person is an integral part of the therapy team. The goal of OT is to make long-term & tangible differences in patient’s daily lives through helping each patient participate in day-to-day activities.

Do you think an OT could help you? Get an order from your doctor for OT & reach out to Aundrea Hill, OTD, OTR-L at (605)649-7663 to schedule an appointment with her today!
