Did someone say Summer Kids Movies for $2?!?!

Hunter had a blast watching the Secret Life of Pets today. He was full of laughs and giggles.

He also got to have his favorite Nori Nachos! If you like sushi and are in the OC area give them a try! Delicious!

Maya Angelou once said, “Family isn’t always blood. It’s the people in your life who want you in theirs. The ones who accept you for who you are. The ones who would do anything to see you smile, and who love you no matter what.”

Words cannot begin to express how humbled we are to have gained so many new members to Hunter’s village recently! Our phones have been pinging away with notifications. Welcome to the family! We are so excited you’ve chosen to be part of Hunter’s journey.

Since many of you are new here, we wanted to share a recent favorite photo of our family and say thank you for standing with us. Your support means more than you know.

This page serves as a place where we share everyday moments as a medical family—our victories, our challenges, and the things that matter most to us—especially ensuring a bright, safe, and supported future for Hunter and his brother, Tater. It is also a space dedicated to raising awareness about Shaken Baby Syndrome and the lifelong impact it can have on children and families, while continuing to seek accountability and justice for our sweet boy, whose story deserves to be told.

Everything we do here is driven by love, passion, and purpose. We believe in keeping it real. There is no sugarcoating here—just truth. Just like we tell Hunt’s doctors, we leave out the fluff. Our journey has been far from easy, but it has been worth every step. We hold steadfast in our faith, knowing that God has a plan for our family and our sweet boys.

Stay tuned as we reintroduce each member of our crew in the days to come so you can get to know us a little better.

Sometimes, the most telling thing about a person’s character is what they did before they ever asked for your vote. If you want to know what a leader will do in office, look at how they treated people when they had absolutely nothing to gain. Look for someone who invests their time in people, not publicity.

Imagine showing up to support a little boy you don’t even know. This was long before Scott Hamilton ever decided to run for Sheriff. There were no campaign cameras trailing behind him, and there were no press releases waiting to be sent out. Yet, Scott did exactly that at the Tangier Classic Fishing Tournament . He didn’t know Hunter personally. He didn’t ask for a staged picture, and he never made the moment about himself. He just quietly stood in the gap for Hunter and his cause. That wasn’t a political stunt.

True integrity is how you treat others behind closed doors, or when you think no one is looking. It is doing the right thing simply because it is the right thing to do. It lives in quiet, random acts of kindness just like this one.

Politics is part of the job, but so is presence throughout your community—supporting and working alongside your deputies for the common good. Presence doesn’t mean photo ops. It’s showing up with the sincere intention of supporting others, just like Scott did for Hunter. True change starts with leaders who show up out of heartfelt compassion. Hunter’s Hope proudly supports Scott Hamilton for Sheriff of Wicomico County because he is exactly the kind of leader who will always choose service over politics.

💙🦈💙

One month from today marks a significant step in a journey that has been years in the making. Much of this process has taken place quietly behind the scenes, and we are now moving into the next phase of seeking clarity, understanding, and accountability as we move forward with what is needed for Hunter’s future. We know this path will not be easy, but it is one we feel is necessary.

Lately, things have been especially hard. Hunter has been struggling more—more frequent distress, increased self-injurious behaviors, disrupted sleep, and muscle spasms that are becoming more difficult to manage. We continue to advocate daily for his needs and supports, doing everything we can to help him stay safe and regulated.

In the middle of it all are the small moments that matter most—watching him with his little brother, and seeing connection, awareness, and care that remind us how deeply he is loved and how much he understands.

As July 10 approaches, our focus remains on doing what is best for Hunter. We are preparing to continue seeking clarity and accountability through the appropriate next steps, ensuring his experiences and needs are fully heard and understood.

His story deserves to be told fully, truthfully, and with the dignity he deserves.

It deserves to be heard, not overlooked.
It deserves to be understood, not minimized.
And most of all, it deserves to matter.

💙🦈💙

A little update from our family… 💙

We’ve been a little quiet lately, but I promise it’s anything but quiet behind the scenes. As the school year comes to an end, life has turned into an absolute blur. Between end-of-the-year events and activities, IEP meetings, coordinating summer therapies, and trying to prepare for a completely different routine, these last couple of weeks have been nonstop.

Unfortunately, Hunt’s last day of preschool ended a day early because we had to schedule a necessary procedure. In about an hour and a half, he’ll be going under for exploratory surgery. 🥺

At the beginning of the school year, his little belly button started leaking. We’ve seen numerous specialists and gone through several diagnostic procedures, but despite all of that, we still don’t have answers. Today, we’re hoping to finally get some.

Daddy and Hunt headed out at 4:00 a.m. this morning. The plan is for this to be an outpatient procedure, but depending on what they find, he’s scheduled for up to three different procedures while he’s under anesthesia and may have to stay over night for monitoring.

Meanwhile, Mom is holding down the fort at home, wrapping up the last two days of school with her high schoolers while trying to keep everything else running.

If you’re the praying kind, we would truly appreciate a little prayer for our sweet boy today—for steady hands, clear answers, and a smooth recovery. Medical procedures never get easier, and this mama’s heart is feeling all the emotions right now. 💙🥺

Pic from water day yesterday. He had so much fun.

Mama found a helmet that actually fits his little noggin! Extra Extra Small!

Some cool adaptive things are coming Hunts way 🛹

And yes, we were all giggles over his helmet fitting because it’s so stinking cute!
