Maybe this is why so many moms become “just-in-case” overpackers.

Most of us learned young that being prepared can prevent more than a mess. It can protect us from embarrassment, too.

Working at a middle school front desk, I see it: a student feels sick and has to carry a big trash can down the hallway to the nurse, hoping they make it before everyone notices.

It’s sad. It’s embarrassing. And it breaks this mama’s heart.
