We’re proud to share that Erin Bravo, RN, one of our dedicated surgical nurses, has been named our 2026 DAISY Foundation Award honoree. 🌼

Erin was selected from 28 nominations, each representing outstanding care across our organization, making this recognition especially meaningful. She’s known for helping patients feel at ease during stressful moments, building trust with families, and stepping up whenever her team needs her often before being asked.

Her commitment goes beyond the bedside as well, improving processes that support safe, high‑quality care for our community, and supporting collaboration across departments. Erin truly reflects what this recognition is all about: compassion, clinical excellence, and a genuine commitment to others.

We’re grateful for the difference she makes every day as she helps inspire health, wholeness, and hope in our community. 💙 You can read more about her story in the blog post linked in the first comment.

In honor of Asian American and Pacific Islander Heritage Month, we're proud to share the voices of our AAPI associates through Care Rooted in Heritage, a series celebrating the connection between cultural identity and career.

We believe care is more than a job. It’s deeply personal — often rooted in the values, traditions, and lived experiences we carry with us.

Meet Anita Chou, Adventist Health Southern California Network Finance Officer, and learn how her heritage has shaped her career and the way she expresses care every day:

"My cultural background has taught me the importance of respect, humility, and treating others with compassion. Growing up between the U.S. and Taiwan helped me understand the value of listening, being adaptable, and recognizing that every person comes from a different background and experience. These values influence my thought process in consideration for patients, families, and coworkers in my role as the Network Finance Officer at Adventist Health Southern California by making sure I approach others with empathy, patience, and a strong commitment to helping them feel supported and understood."

Thanks to all our employees for believing in our mission, and creating an award-winning workplace culture!

Adventist Health hospitals in Tillamook, Portland, and the Columbia Gorge have each won 2025 Top Workplaces Culture Excellence awards for employee well‑being, professional development, and employee appreciation.

These recognitions are especially meaningful because they’re based on feedback from Adventist employees.

“Our team shares a deep commitment to mission,” said Kyle King, Adventist Health’s Oregon Network President. “These recognitions speak to how that mission shows up in the way we treat each other, and provides a framework for well-being and personal development.”

The heart of local healthcare is truly knowing your community, so you can provide the care your friends and neighbors need—when, where, and how they need it.

Adventist Health proudly serves communities across California, Oregon, and Hawai‘i. In Hawai‘i, our roots in the Windward O‘ahu community go back to 1963, when Adventist Health Castle was founded in Kailua.

During Asian American, Native Hawaiian and Pacific Islander Heritage Month, we honor the values of Hawaiian culture that continue to teach us about health, wholeness and caring for one another.
