Twenty-five years ago, our nation experienced a day of unimaginable loss—one that forever changed our country and the lives of countless Americans.
Today, we remember the nearly 3,000 lives lost on September 11, 2001. We honor the firefighters, law enforcement officers, EMS professionals, military members, and ordinary citizens who ran toward danger, helped strangers, and answered an extraordinary moment with courage and selflessness.
For those of us whose work is rooted in preparedness, response, and protecting others, their example carries particular meaning. September 11 reminds us not only of what was lost, but of the profound difference made by people who are willing to step forward when others need them most.
Twenty-five years later, we remember the lives. We remember the courage. We remember the unity.
We will never forget.
