🌀 Hurricane season is here, and preparation matters—especially for our senior community.
Today, some of our Paxton team on behalf of Sun City Senior Care is attending the SouthShore Disaster Council Hurricane Preparedness Symposium in Ruskin, learning from local emergency experts, first responders, utility partners, and community organizations about how residents can better prepare before a storm arrives.
We’ll also be participating in the next symposium on Thursday, June 11th at Sun City Center United Methodist Church, and we’d love to see you there!
For many seniors, a hurricane can create unique challenges—from medication management and power-dependent medical equipment to transportation concerns and access to healthcare. Taking a little time to prepare now can help reduce stress and improve safety if a storm impacts our area.
🌪️ Hurricane Preparedness Tips for Seniors:
✅ Keep at least a 7-day supply of medications on hand
✅ Create a list of emergency contacts
✅ Charge phones and backup battery packs
✅ Know your evacuation zone
✅ Keep important medical records in a waterproof container
✅ Have extra water, nonperishable food, and medical supplies available
✅ Plan ahead for mobility equipment, oxygen, CPAP machines, or other healthcare needs
🎁 Stop by our table at the June 11th event and enter for your chance to win a Hurricane Preparedness Basket filled with emergency essentials to help you and your family stay prepared this season.
At Sun City Senior Care, caring for our patients extends beyond the walls of our office. Helping seniors stay safe, informed, and prepared is just one more way we support healthier, more confident living throughout the year.
